Lauren Brooke Cosmetiques: Reviewed

I had the opportunity to try out some new mineral based makeup from Lauren Brooke Cosmetiques. I am always looking for new options for eye shadows, mascara, blush, and foundation. The items I was sent for review were 2 full size creme foundations (Cool 10, Cool 20), a full size Lash Strengthening Mascara in Onyx Black, a full size Corrective Concealer, and sample size pots (1-3 uses each) of some eye shadows and a blush.

Lauren Brooke Creme Foundation (Cool 10 & Cool 20) in Glass Jar:

I really like this foundation. It is lightweight, creamy, and glides easily onto my face. The jar is glass which I love (classy, attractive, feels sturdy in hand) and the amount of product is very generous. This foundation has a nice coverage and lasted me the entire day. I am wearing a mix of Cool 10 and Cool 20. I used a light dusting of another brand mineral powder to set the look, then applied the sample pot of Lauren Brooke Mineral Blush in the color Petals.

My Foundation and Blush Routine (as seen in this review and my normal routine:

Here is how I prepped my skin, and then applied the foundation:

I oil and steam cleansed my face with a homemade mixture of Argan Oil, Jojoba Oil, Rose Hip Oil, Vegetable Glycerin, and Castor Oil. I rinsed and patted dry. I applied my Vitamin C serum with Hyaluronic Acid. After the Serum had absorbed, I applied Tarte Flawless Brightening Primer. I then took a finger tip amount of Lauren Brooke cream foundation in Cool 10 & Cool 20, mixed and lightly dabbed onto a wet Beauty Blender sponge and applied to my face. I used a light dusting of another brand mineral powder to set the foundation, then applied the sample pot of Lauren Brooke Mineral Blush in the color Petals. I applied another light dusting of mineral powder over the entire face (cheeks, nose, forehead, etc.)for a final setting.

This foundation has some amazing ingredients! I love the SPF properties of Zinc Oxide, it is also an anti-inflammatory and is soothing to skin. This foundation is super smooth and ultra thick, made with luxurious and skin nourishing Organic Argan Oil. Argan Oil is rich in fatty acids and helps prevent wrinkles. Green Tea Extracts provide antioxidants and Vitamin C. Vitamin C assists with Collagen and Elastin production. I love the oils in this foundation: Jojoba, Rosehip, Neem & Vitamin E Oil. Silica reduces the appearance of large pores (which I have), fine lines, and wrinkles.

Foundation Ingredients:

Certified Organic Non-GMO Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride (Coconut Oil Extract), Zinc Oxide, Certified Organic Beeswax, Certified Organic Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Silica, Non-GMO Radish Root Ferment Filtrate, Certified Organic Argania Spinsosa (Argan) Oil, Certified Organic Rosa Canina Fruit (Rosehip Seed) Oil, Certified Organic Melia Azadirachta (Neem) Seed Oil, Natural Clay, Certified Organic Camellia Sinensis Leaf (Green Tea) Extract, Certified Organic Passiflora Incarnata (Passionflower) Flower Extract, Certified Organic Rubus Idaeus (Raspberry) Fruit Extract, Non-GMO Natural Vitamin E Oil (+/-, Iron Oxides, Mica, Org Essential Oil Blend).

Lauren Brooke Cheek Color in Petals:

The Petals Cheek color / blush went on very dark at first, which does not bother me as I love a bright and noticeable blush. I often go overboard with blush. It was a corally peach orange shade on my face, which is a cheek color I seem to gravitate towards. I applied it with a Pink Bamboo Bdellium Tools Bronzer brush 992.

Ingredients: Zinc Oxide, Boron Nitride, Mica, Magnesium Stearate, Certified Organic Vegetable Starch, Pure Pearl Powder, Silk Powder, Certified Organic Melia Azadirachta (Neem), Certified Organic Olea Europaea (Olive) Extract, Certified Organic Rubus Idaeus (Raspberry) Extract, Comfrey derived Allantoin (May contain: Ultramarines, Mica, Iron Oxides).

Lauren Brooke Lash Strengthening Mascara:

This mascara was quite nice. It has an AMAZING rubbery bristle brush, which I was the most excited about. It separated my lashes very well and looked very fluttery. I did apply this on hot, humid 90+ degree days and my bottom lashes did have some smearing, (so I may decide to apply a different more waterproof brand on lower only--if I know it will be hot and humid) but other than that, I loved it!It was a nice dark mascara.

This mascara is ultra nourishing! It has vitamins, herbs and extracts like Organic Horsetail (contains silica), and Organic Nettle. Both ingredients are used to stimulate hair growth and assist with preventing hair loss. I have always used Horsetail and Nettle vitamins for my hair and nails. I drink a lot of herbal teas with these 2 ingredients as it as it strengthens hair and helps with preventing hair fall/shed (which I have had since giving birth to my son in April). This mascara also contains Burdock Root which is helpful to prevent hair thinning, and nourishes hair so that it thickens and grows. It contains Aloe Vera which is rich in Vitamins C, A, B12 and E and is very cooling and soothing. This mascara is rich in protein and essential fatty acids. Luxury in a bottle.

My Mascara Routine (as seen in this review and my normal routine):

Here is how I prepped and applied this mascara:

I curled my bare lashes with my pink eyelash curler, gently pumping each lash about 10 times. I applied 2 coats of Lauren Brooke Mascara in Onyx Black.

(Vegan) Ingredients:

Certified Organic Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe), Sorbitol, Olive Emulsifiers, Certified Organic Ricinus Communis (Castor) Wax, Certified Organic Equisetum arvense (Horsetail), Certified Organic Arctium Lappa (Burdock), Certified Organic Herbal Extract Blend, Non-GMO Radish Root Ferment Filtrate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Non-GMO Organic Lecithin, Glyceryl Stearate, Citrus Aurantium Amara (Orange Peel) Wax, Ecocert Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Wax, Vitamin B Complex, Iron Oxide. .12 oz (Travel Size), .34 oz (Full-Size)

Lauren Brook Corrective Concealer:

I used this for under my eyes. It was a peachy salmon color and seemed to work well. It was smooth to apply and I did not experience any tugging on my delicate under eye area. I do have rather dark circles under my eyes that are difficult for me to cover and I have never been great with covering them even with the best products.

This moisturizing corrective concealer contains natural vitamins, minerals and pigments blended into a
botanical creamy base. This also had Argan and Rosehip Oils, which I am in love with. I use oils daily and in all my beauty creams, whether homemade or purchased. Rose Hip is rich in Vitamin C, reduces inflammation, is an antioxidant, and repairs cell damage. As I mentioned previously, Argan has similar properties as Rose Hip. I use both in my daily facial oil cleansing method. This concealer also contains Zinc Oxide which has the SPF and can brighten under eyes. It contains  Raspberry which is Vitamin C rich, anti-oxidant, and anti-inflammatory. As you can see, this concealer is LOADED with Vitamin C, Anti-oxidants, and other nourishing ingredients.

My Under-Eye Concealer Routine (as seen in this review and my normal routine):

Here is how I prepped and applied this concealer:

I applied the concealer on my ring finger tip as that finger has the least amount of pressure when applying to the delicate skin around eyes. I applied this concealer after applying Urban Decay Primer Potion in Original around my lids and under eyes.

Ingredients: Certified Organic Non-GMO Capryllic/Capric Triglycerides (coconut oil extract), Zinc Oxide, Certified Organic Cera Alba (Beeswax), Certified Organic Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Silica, Non-GMO Radish Root Ferment Filtrate, Certified Organic Argania Spinsosa (Argan) Oil , Certified Organic Rosa Canina (Rosehip) Fruit Oil, Certified Organic Neem (Melia Azadirachta) Seed Oil, Natural Clay, Certified Organic Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Certified Organic Passiflora Incarnata Flower (Passionflower) Extract, Certified Organic Rubus Idaeus (Raspberry) Fruit Extract, Non-GMO Natural Vitamin E Oil (+/- Iron Oxides, Org Essential Oil Blend).

Lauren Brooke Eye Shadows:

I was sent some samples of both loose and creme eye shadows.

The loose minerals were a bit messy in the sample pots so they did not get photographed as I did not want to spill. The creme shadows were easy to apply and smelled like Vanilla (which is one of my favorite scents). The Lauren Brooke website suggests to use these to set your loose mineral eye powders or to use as a highlighter for all-day wear. I used them as a highlighter over my mineral eye shadow.

Here are the Creme Colors I was sent: I used as a highlighter and accent.

Dahlia: Light Mauve Shimmer
Fairy Wings: Frosty Light Baby Pink

(I used Dahlia and Fairy Wings creme shadow with the loose mineral eye shadow in Copper Glow.)

Sky: Frosty Light Sky Blue

(I used Sky creme shadow with loose mineral eye shadow in Morning Dew )

These were lovely when first applied and smelled delicious. I did notice that as the day went on, I had to use my fingertip and smooth the creme eye shadow out a bit as it would smear and crease. (even with an eyeshadow primer) I still like them very much and they work well for added shimmer. They do have matte versions of these creme eye shadows. (I just always select shimmer colors).

Shimmer Ingredients: Certified Organic Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Certified Organic Non-GMO Capryllc/Capric Triglycerides (Coconut Oil Extract), Certified Organic Beeswax, Certified Organic Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Silica, Certified Organic Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Avocado Oil, Rosa Canina Fruit (Rosehip Seed) Oil, Certified Organic Vanilla Planifolia Fruit (vanilla) Extract, Non-GMO Natural Vitamon E Oil (+/- Iron Oxides, Mica, Zinc Oxide, Ultramarines).

I also tried the Loose Powder eye shadows in sample pots. I tried the Colors Copper Glow and Morning Dew. I used Dahlia and Fairy Wings creme shadow with the loose mineral eye shadow in Copper Glow. I used Sky creme shadow with loose mineral eye shadow in Morning Dew.

I lined my eyes in my usual winged cat eye, using Stila Stay All Day black eyeliner pen.
