Another difference between this brand and some other brands I have tried is that this has a dark amber bottle so as to block light from entering and harming the potency or purity of the product. You would think that that would be a standard thing for serums of all types and brands, but it is not. There are many brands that use clear packaging. Yes, it looks pretty when you can see the product, but the product and its ingredients are not protected.
I noticed how much thicker VoilaVe's serum is when compared to others I have tried. I actually had some difficulty dispensing this Hyaluronic acid a few times, when drawing it up into the dropper. Often the gel was so thick that I had to dip the dropper in, and almost scoop it onto the outside of the dropper stick, then place the gel on my finger or palm. I think with a product this thick I would prefer an airless pump bottle as it would be easier, and also it would be closed during dispensing and the bottle would not be exposed to air each time it was used.
I was even more excited that this is fragrance free. Now don't get me wrong, I love fragrances, such as essential oils and some perfumes, however with several brands of Hyaluronic acids I have tried, they have a overly floral fragrance that smells a bit chemically / lab created. Since an item is put on my face, and so close to my nose, I really do not want to smell my Hyaluronic acid and I do not want any perfumes on my face as they might be irritating. I noticed immediately that this soothes and calms my skin and is not sticky or greasy. It feels wonderful on my skin right after my shower, but really feels fantastic at night before bed when its super hot in the summer.
At night I apply it like this:
I do my oil cleansing method and facial steam (I have been combining argan oil, Rosehip Oil
I love how the ingredients are so simple and pure.
Ingredients: Purified Water (Aqua), Hyaluronic Acid High Molecular Weight, Hyaluronic Acid Low Molecular Weight, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin.
I've been using my VoilaVe Hyaluronic Acid Serum on my face, followed by a drop or 2 VoilaVe Organic Rosehip Oil
I like the fact that there are no fillers, parabens, alcohol, fragrance and is cruelty free. This is made in the USA. This serum is non greasy, non sticky, and the fragrance is so light that it is undetectable. The serum is clear and the consistency is reminiscent to pure aloe vera gel (love). Hyaluronic acid is an excellent moisturizer that restores skins firmness, natural resilience, improves skin elastin and collagen production.
I like that the company does not state a ridiculous anti-aging results period of "look younger in 1 week!" Instead they state, that you can "expect to see results on the first day, but give the serum at least 30 days to see the best results." This is true, I do notice a difference after one use. No, I do not feel or look younger after a few days, but my skin feels very soft, and very smooth. It feels cleaner, almost as if my pores are softer, if that makes sense. My face feels hydrated but not wet or greasy. I have only used this 2 weeks, so I cannot claim that I will look younger, but I do believe in the importance of Hyaluronic acid, Vitamin C, essential oils, and other oil application such as Rose Hip, Argan, Jojoba, or similar. It is also important to drink lots of water, as that provides moisture to the skin as well.
