Bella & Bear Hair She Goes Hair Removal Kit: Reviewed

Ok ladies, who has little peach fuzz on their face that wishes it was not there? Be honest. We all have it. There are so many facial hair removal methods available, some more effective than others. Some are more expensive than others. Some involve plugging into electrical outlets, or use batteries, some include application of messy, unpleasantly fragranced (sulfur or egg smell) creams that melt the hair by using strong chemicals.

I had the opportunity to review a product from the Bella and Bear company. It is a hair removal set of peachy orange tweezers and a coordinating peachy orange spring like hair removal device based on the threading method. Threading is an ancient method of hair removal, by using threads rolled back and forth to remove hair by the root.

Bella and Bear products are cute, girly, and the polka dot floral packaging is reminiscent of fifties hollywood or vintage pin up glamour. The products have cute names and this one is no exception, cleverly named "Hair She Goes Hair Removal Kit", this set is easy to slip into a purse or weekend bag. No more unpleasant depilatory creams or electrical devices need to be packed when you go away on a trip.

The set comes with a set of peachy orange painted metal tweezers and a long spring that grabs out hair from the roots. The tweezers seem to work well for me and I have used them a few times with removing stray hairs along my eyebrows. I did notice some of the color coming off after a few weeks of use. The spring facial epilator has peachy orange handles on each end. In order to use this, hold each end and bend into an upside down U shape. Slowly and effortlessly rotate the handles in and out while placing this against the area of hair removal, while also moving the remover upwards. Hair and peach fuzz are caught into the metal spring and removed by the roots. It is not 100% painless, but it is not terrible. Those who are used to waxing, epilating or tweezing should not be bothered by much discomfort. It did not cause me pain, except for some stinging on my upper lip area, as that part is always more sensitive to me. This seems to be suitable for most hair and skin types, including sensitive skin. I did not have any irritation.

I used to use products such as Nair, Veet, and other depilatory creams, gels, etc. They would burn/melt the hair, cause redness and irritation, and often only part of the hair would be disintegrated, while the skin was left irritated with some weak (partially broken) hair left on my arms or face. I like how it seems more efficient than using tweezers alone. More than one hair is removed at a time, which is quite nice. It is easy to clean this facial epilator tool, just hold the two ends bent and rinse under water, then let it air dry. To keep it sanitary, use an alcohol wipe. It is a bit awkward to store, as it is quite long. I store mine on my dresser vanity upright in a pretty vintage strawberry pattern ceramic sugar container (along with eyeliner pencils, mascaras, etc.) :)

This could be used as a touch up on legs or arms. For arm use, you would need the help of someone else. This device works well and is convenient for traveling or use at home. I have found it easy to use on my face while watching tv (it catches the hairs pretty well, but I lay a hand towel on my lap in case as I am paranoid) and it would be easy to use while riding as a passenger in a car. I would not say it is the only spring facial epilator stick I have seen like this, as to be honest I have used this type of spring device years ago and have seen many similar brands of these. They all seem to work the same for me, but I like them. This one is nice as it comes in a matching set, is a nice color, and the packaging is pretty. Yes, I totally kept the packaging for this set and the Bella and Bear eyelash curler. It is nice to not have to wait and buy this facial epilator from overseas. You purchase it directly from Bella and Bear in the USA. I also like how sweet the people at the Bella & Bear company are, they are always quick to answer my questions. Price-wise, I think this set should not be more than $15 total after shipping as there seem to be similar spring device facial epilators sold alone without tweezers for much less. However, as mentioned, shipping for those others would most definitely be from Asia, and probably take 3-4 weeks (maybe longer) to arrive. The other brands would not have good customer service, and most likely would not have a 100% money back guarantee. The Bella & Bear products are tested before they are sent to you.

Currently the company is having a special where you Save 20% each on qualifying items offered by Bella and Bear when you purchase 1 or more on Amazon. Enter code BEAR2020 at checkout. To purchase on Amazon: Facial Hair Remover Kit by Bella and Bear. They have a nice cherry red eyelash curler that I reviewed: Here. If you are interested, you can view or purchase the curler on Amazon. Eyelash Curler: Eye & Mighty Adorable name.

The spring epilator can be used on the upper lip (mustache) hair, chin, cheeks, and jawlines. I would not recommend that it be used on eyebrows or too close to the brows. I have used it between my brows, but you need to be careful not to get your brows caught in it. For more information, or to purchase on Amazon: Facial Hair Remover Kit by Bella and Bear

I do like this set, it is one of my favorite colors, the branding/packaging is cute, the customer service is stellar, and the set works well for my uses. Have you used one of these type devices previously? What type of hair removal do you use?

Matcha De Mark Green Tea Matcha: Reviewed

I have been making protein smoothies for about 4 1/2 months now. Since having my son in April, I have been making smoothies from cacao powder, vanilla protein powder, greens, green matcha, milk, and frozen bananas. I drink a shake in the morning and one in the afternoon. I love the sustained, non jittery energy it gives me. Sometimes I add frozen blueberries to give even more superfood kick. I was able to try a brand that is new to me.

Matcha is supremely healthy and provides a nice flavor to my smoothie. Matcha tea has about 3 times as much EGCG antioxidant than other green teas. Other teas are brewed with hot water and a tea bag. Matcha is done differently, the whole tea leaf is ingested, as opposed to just the steeped water from a tea bag. Matcha contains a higher concentration of catechins, chlorophyll, and antioxidants. Matcha tea contains an amino acid derivative called L-Theanine, which is said to relieve stress and give mental clarity/alertness.

I was sent a sample from the company, Matcha De Mark Green Tea. It arrived well packaged in a resealable bag and included an emailed copy of Matcha Tea recipe ebook. This can be helpful to anyone new to Matcha or those who need more ideas. If you join the Matcha club, they send a new recipe to you each month.

This is a very rich, fragrant matcha. When I opened the bag I was drawn to the beautiful earthy aroma. I made the matcha as a hot drink to compare it to my other hot macha lattes I have made in the paste and it fared well, I just do not drink a lot of hot tea in the summer. I made my hot matcha with 1 teaspoon powder matcha, hot water from my Keurig, and used a metal whisk. I unfortunately do not have a wooden, bamboo whisk, which is the traditional way to make matcha. Also, the Keurig is not the most traditional experience, but is a quick way for me to have hot water on hand. I added milk and local pure raw honey.

As mentioned above, I use this in my daily green smoothies. The cacao (raw chocolate) powder that I add changes the color to more of a milky brownish green, and the 2 flavors pair well with each other in my opinion. I usually add 2 frozen bananas, milk, and my favorite green superfood based vanilla protein powder. I feel a natural energy each day. I prefer this over caffeinated coffee.

I compared this matcha to my current brand. They both taste wonderful, and are high quality, but I do notice a more fragrance aroma from this bag. I like both a lot, however the only thing that gives the other a few more points is the bag. The other matcha tea bag has a flat bottom so it stands well when I am scooping powder out and using it in smoothies or baking. I would love if this company could change the packaging to have a flat bottom (like the green colored bag). However, it is not too big of a problem because I keep my cacao powder and my vanilla flavored protein greens powder in Vintage Mason jars with lids and scoops. I will probably transfer the Matcha De Mark Green Matcha in a Mason jar as well.

A tip I have for all those who like making homemade spa like face masks: Wash your face as you normally do, (but be gentle and do not scrub). Rinse and pat dry. Mix about 1 tablespoon of green matcha, 2 tablespoons of raw pure honey, 2 tablespoons of unsweetened, plain yogurt, a dropper full of pure argan oil, a dropper full of vegetable glycerin, and mix. Apply to your face for 10 minutes, then rinse off. Optional ingredients if you have on hand: 2 drops of either peppermint essential oil, tea tree, or lavender, for aromatherapy and extra healing. Be careful not to get the mask in eyes or too close to eyes. If you have sensitive skin, leave out the essential oils. Do not apply this mask it you have open wounds or irritated skin. Don't have these ingredients on hand? Try just honey, matcha, and milk for a simple recipe. The ingredients need to be a thick paste or creamy consistency.

Organic Tart Cherry Juice: Sleepytime: Elite Gold Solutions: Reviewed

I have always been a bit of an insomniac, even as young as grade school, middle school and high school. I was always the last to fall asleep at sleep overs, and sometimes, I never fell asleep at all. It was always difficult when it was a school night at home and I would lay awake for hours staring at the bright green digital numbers on the alarm clock. What kept me awake? Deadlines for book reports or papers, big math tests, picture day, or a big speaking part in the drama club--would I remember all my lines? In my college years, I had very little sleep. I would stay up late writing papers until the wee hours of the night, and when I was finally finished, even when exhausted, I would lay awake at night, waiting for sleep to give me rest.

Now that I am a mother of 2, a 3 1/2 yr old and a 4 1/2 year old, I need to sleep as much as possible, as both get me up very early in the morning and keep me busy during the day. But sadly, each night I cannot get sleepy until 1 or 2 am. This makes it incredibly difficult when I need to be up anywhere between 5:30 am and 8:00 am, depending on when they each decide to get up (it differs day to day). Often my 3 1/2 yr old daughter decides 5:40 am is a good time to rise. I had only fallen asleep around 2:30 am the nights before. I need something to calm and relax me, but I do not want to take sleeping pills. I want a natural option.

The past week I have been trying a natural product. It is not a pill and it tastes delicious. It takes like cherries, and I love it because it is pure organic cherry juice and unsweetened. I do not like sugary drinks or artificial "juices" or punches. I was sent a bottle of 100% Organic Tart Cherry Juice from Elite Gold Solutions. I love this juice. It tastes very high quality and when I take it, it reminds me of a expensive wine, without the alcohol.

This organic juice supplement is a natural sleep aid, containing a natural form of Melatonin. Melatonin calms the body, and helps regulate night and day cycles or sleep-wake cycles. According to the American Cancer Society, melatonin acts as an antioxidant, and blocks the action of free radicals that damage cells and speed signs of aging.

Here is how I take it: I take 2 Tablespoons in water 2-3 hours before bedtime. I want to try to set a realistic goal and try to get to bed at midnight for now, and then hopefully I can get to bed sooner, perhaps 10:30 or 11 pm. I did not see how much of water, juice or seltzer I was supposed to use, so I just mixed a small amount of water, perhaps 4-6 oz. I wanted to not water down my cherry flavor. I have tried this by itself in a spoonful, as well as in water. I like it both ways, but I can enjoy it longer in water. Some people might find this bitter or too strong, but I have never been a fan of sugary drinks, so this tastes wonderful to me. I do not add any sweetening to it. I often mix it into the last 4-6 oz of my bottled water bottle, and shake it up. It is delicious.

The nice thing about it is that it contains so many health benefits.

•-> Natural Melatonin For Improved Sleep
•-> Block Bad Enzymes For Pain Relief (Less Swelling, Faster Muscle Strength Recovery)
•-> Help Fight Heart Disease By Controlling Bad Cholesterol
•-> Neutralize Harmful Oxidants In The Body

I will continue to use 100% Organic Tart Cherry Juice after this bottle is used up. It is a tasty treat and the benefits are wonderful. I am excited to try this with real grape juice or mixed in a smoothie. I am planning on getting some plain Greek yogurt and mixing this in with it.

Hyperbiotics PRO-15 "The Perfect Probiotic" Reviewed

I have been testing out a new probiotic vitamin called Hyperbiotics PRO-15 . It is a yellow toned, rounded pearl shaped pill. I have tried 2 other probiotic brands in the past. One was a vegetable cellulose capsule (white powder inside that can be broken apart to sprinkle the powder into food) and the other was a similar rounded pearl shape that is a very popular well known brand.

Probiotics are living organisms that produce enzymes. Their function is to break down food that is consumed, as well as convert sugars into the essential nutrients our bodies need. I try to eat yogurt as often as possible as it contains these healthy bacteria naturally and it tastes delicious. It is important to try to eat lowfat, low sugar versions when possible. Probiotics need Prebiotics to assist them. Prebiotics are specific kinds of fibers that nourish the "good" bacteria that live in our digestive system. Hyperbiotics PRO-15 contain prebiotics to help feed the probiotics, which assists the GI tract.

I have 3 different types of probiotics to compare. I will use "Brand A" and "Brand B" as labels.

Brand A (white capsule form): These are about 3/4 of an inch long, and you are directed to take 2 of them. The Brand A contain 10 Billion CFU'S. (For 2 capsules) Probiotic Bacteria 10.12 Billion Organisms Bacillus Subtillus 2.64 Billion L. Rhamnosus 1.36 Billion L. Casei 1.36 Billion B. Longum 1.36 Billion L. Acidophilus 1.36 Billion L. Plantarum 680 Million B. Breve 1.36 Billion, pill bottle.

Brand B (tiny pale yellow pearl shaped) These are about 1/4 inch, and you are directed are to take one with or without food, and they are a rounded/pearl shape. Brand B contains 1 billion CFU. These can be conveniently taken on the go as they are stored in a blister pack, and need no refrigeration. Palm Oil, Gelatin, Glycerin, Lecithin, and Pectin. Proprietary Probiotic Blend (Lactobacillus Acidophilus and Bifidobacterium Longum. The texture of this pill is a shiny, glossy creamy pale yellow, and they are said to be triple layer soft gels that protects them from heat and moisture and damage of the bacteria.

Brand C/Hyperbiotics PRO-15: These are slightly bigger than the Brand B rounded probiotics, but darker yellow and with a ridge around the pill. These are about 1/3 inch in size and you are directed to take one prior to food. Lactobacillus acidophilus, L. rhamnosus, L. casei L. plantarum, L. fermentum, L. reuteri, L. salivarius, L. paracasei, L. gasseri, Streptococcus thermophilus, Bifidobacterium bifidum, B. longum, B. breve, B. infantis, B. lactis. Hyperbiotics PRO-15 is vegetarian, lactose free, gluten free, yeast free, soy free, nut free, non-GMO and made without iron, preservatives, sugar, artificial colors or flavors. 18 month shelf life after the date of manufacture with zero refrigeration.

I have taken the Brand B for years and I like them as they work well for me. Brand A is a newer probiotic in our home as it was intended for use with our infant who had acid reflux his first 2 months of life. We would easily break the capsule open and add what we needed to the pumped breast milk. Our 4 1/2 month son seems to have grown out of his reflux and so we rarely give him the probioitcs, since he gets it through my milk. Breast milk contains Probiotics and Prebiotics through foods I consume and my supplements. I am promoting a proper balance of bacteria for my baby.

I am new to the Hyperbiotics brand and their technology. This formula is released at consistent levels throughout the day and throughout your Gl tract. It is said to be 15 times more effective than capsules. The company explains it best in their words,

"BIO-Tract vs. Enteric Coated and Non-Enteric Coated:

Normal, non-enteric coated probiotics are simply probiotic powder in a gelatin capsule and offer no protection from a harsh stomach environment, meaning that many do not survive long enough to deliver much benefit to your digestive system." (This would be like my Brand A).

"Enteric coated probiotics offer more protection from stomach acids with a few drawbacks. First, the organisms are released at one time, in your upper stomach and don't often make the journey to your small or large intestine." (Brand B?)

Hyperbiotics PRO-15 probiotic pearls deliver 15 times the number of live, probiotic organisms, surviving stomach acids better than standard probiotic supplements.

I have not have any ill effects with this probiotic and I feel great. I like this probiotic and would recommend it. It seems to be top rated on Amazon. I like how it does not have fillers and it is made in the USA. The flip top dispenser is nice as well and the unique shaped opening helps dispense the pill a bit more precisely without a whole handful spilling out. I definitely feel better when I am taking these daily and I do not skip a dose. The few times I have skipped my daily probiotic, I get stomach cramps and am sluggish, with failed energy. When we neglect healthy eating habits, proper water intake, vitamin and nutrient absorption and adequate sleep, we are harming our body and become fatiqued, low energy, and unhealthy. We can become irritable and moody. Our stomach and digestion suffers. Taking a good probiotic helps promote a happy digestive system and improves mood and energy. I was not previously familiar with this brand but it definitely seems to work well for me. I am happy that the size is similar to my favorite probiotic.

I still think I might keep getting the Brand A (capsules)in addition to this brand. The powder capsules are convenient to use for my 3 1/2 year old and infant as they are easy to mix with food. I probably could crush the Hyperbiotics PRO-15 pill with my crusher, but it may not be easy due to the small size and shape of the pill. If you do decide to crush it, only add it to cold foods (heat decreases the effectiveness).

For more information about this probiotic, or to purchase, visit Amazon.

Exfolimate: Set of 2 Facial Exfoliation tools: Reviewed

Exfoliation is key. If you want smoother, softer, healthier, rosier complexion that looks younger, exfoliate your skin. I have tired many methods over the years, microfiber microdermabrasion face cloths, corundum crystals for microdermabrasion, facial scrubs, honey and sugar scrubs, sponges and many more. I had the opportunity to try something I had not heard of before. Exfolimate is an Australian made exfoliation device that comes in a 2 piece set. One smaller piece is for facial smoothing, and the larger one is for areas of the body such as arms and legs, etc.

Exfolimate works well because it increases circulation to the capillaries and gives a natural rosy glow. It removes dry dead skin cells that dull skin and make skin rough and uneven in tone. Proper exfoliation reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. This smoothes skin, preparing it for moisturizer and anti-wrinkle cream application.

What is Exfolimate? These personal exfoliation tools for the face & body are used to gently exfoliate prior to any skincare, shaving or hair removal treatments (shaving, epilating, or cream depilatory). The secret is its patented laser formed edge with micro grooves which combine with warm water in the bath or shower to exfoliate gently, naturally, quickly & easily. Use the exfolimate to remove dead skin cells, oils, dirt and grime.

It is a white plastic pie slice shaped device with a precise metal edge for smoothing. At first I was a little worried about the device, thinking it resembled a blade and was worried about using it on my facial skin. But after running my fingertip over it several times, I realized there was no cause for concern. Use a gentle hand and with a light pressure, glide across the desired areas.

The secret to its skill is the innovative "micro-groove technology etched into the smooth metal edge." The grooves gently lift and remove dead skin cells, and dirt, revealing younger looking, smoother skin. Exfolimate gently exfoliates the face and body and is super easy to use. I have been using it every day in the shower and my face is LOVING it. I have only used the body device on my cleavage creasing so far as I am a side sleeper and have some lined areas in between. I have not tried it as a pre-shave exfoliation on my legs, however do think that it would be perfectly suited for legs.

Here is how I use the small device on my face. I wash my face with hot water(I wash with the oil cleansing method and use a mix of argan, jojoba, calendula, grape seed and glycerin oils and remove my makeup) and a hot wash cloth to steam out blackheads, then rinse with cool water and leave my face soaked with water. I start in the areas around my nose, and with a light touch, I glide the tool from nose crease outward towards my cheek and toward my earlobes. I do both sides of my face twice, and then I do my area in between my eyebrows upward toward my forehead. Lastly, I do my neck upwards toward my chin and jawlines. I often do this at night before bed as well. I have not had any irritation or breakouts. I really am liking this product.

Afterwards my skin feels softer and looks brighter. What I like is that it provides a smooth base for better makeup application. My foundation applies easier and more natural without caking. As mentioned, the larger tool can be used pre-shave for a smoother shave, lifting the hairs which prepares them for a closer shave. I do not use tanning products, however, this also would work well for a pre-tan preparation for better spray tan results. The larger tool can be used on the bottom of feet and on heels prior to lotion application for pretty feet. It is still sandal season ladies!

To clean your Exfolimate, run the skin smoothing edge under warm running water and use the orange plastic cord to hang it to dry in your shower or on a hook in your bathroom. The cord is handy as it has a sliding piece that tightens the cord on your hand for slip free use. Simple!

To find our more or to purchase your own Exfolimate Set You can find it on Amazon Here.
