Argan Alchemy Argan Oil: Reviewed ($5 off coupon code limited time offer)

I had the opportunity to review another oil this past month. As you all know, I am the biggest proponent of oil cleansing and oiling you might meet. I use many different types of oils, but my favorites seem to be Argan oil, Jojoba, and Calendula. Of course the last one is really a mix of the first 2 with the addition of grapeseed oil, dried marigold flowers (calendula) and sweet almond oil. I make it myself with top quality oil, 4 weeks of "brewing" in a mason jar in a sunny spot. Most people use cheaper methods of using just olive oil and marigold flowers, but really, why not use the best oils possible, especially since the oils will be used on yourself and your loved ones?

I love top quality oils. I use them in most everything. Argan oil is definitely a luxurious oil. It is important to get authentic and pure Argan, as there are many brands out there that try to save money and either dilute them, add chemicals, or add other filler oils to their Argan. I reviewed an Argan hair oil (HSI) a few months back and guess what? Argan was the THIRD ingredient! How is that even right? Look over the ingredients and tell me if you really think that is healthy for hair?

Ingredients
Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Argania Spinosa (Argan) Oil, Fragrance, D&C Red # 17, D&C Yellow #11, Benzyl Benzoate, Benzyl Salicylate, Amyl Cinnamal, Benzyl Salicylate, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Geraniol, Hexyl Cinnamal

(the "argan oil" hair product claimed that it was what "your hair needs for constant nourishment and incredible shine! The essential nutrients contained in this magic-in-a-bottle product are meant to give your hair a very healthy look, lots of shine and velvet smoothness." Notice they said healthy look, your hair won't be healthier, it may appear healthier, but you know why? Dimethicone Crosspolymer. Silicone. Silicones are a temporary solution and make the hair slick and smooth, but over time, build up on your hair and actually can cause more damage. Also, what exactly are D&C Red # 17, D&C Yellow #11, Benzyl Benzoate, Benzyl Salicylate, Amyl Cinnamal, Benzyl Salicylate, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Geraniol, Hexyl Cinnamal and Cyclopentasiloxane? I don't know either. I do not really want to find out, I want PURE Argan oil, and nothing else.

Would you like to hear about a PURE, one ingredient Argan?

I was sent a product to review from Argan Alchemy. It is pure Argan oil, with no additives, fragrances, or preservatives. This oil is organically "certified by USDA and Ecocert, imported at fair trade prices from women-run cooperatives in Morocco, and bottled in the United States." (Argan Alchemy) Isn't it nice to know that you are getting a pure, authentic item from the source of where it comes from, and that it is being acquired fairly?

Argan oil is luxurious, and is rich in essential fatty acids, Vitamin E, and Omega 3-6-9. Our skin loves this oil. I love using it for washing my face, (I am sulfate free and do not use regular soap on my face) as it absorbs it quickly, leaving no greasy residue, just a moist and nourished skin. I have used oils to cleanse my skin for almost 2 years and my naturally oily face has normalized and is acne free and super soft and supple. Argan oil is also really healthy for your hair as well, making it stronger, glossier, soft. We all like beautiful hair don't we?

I like how their oil is bottled in dark cobalt blue glass, which preserves its high quality by filtering out sunlight. Oils and serums should ALWAYS been in a dark amber or dark blue GLASS bottle to preserve freshness and integrity of the precious contents/ingredients. They also use a cold pressing method to make this, which also preserves the purity and does not change the oil. The bottle itself is elegant and has a pretty label. It is quite a stunner!

I use this oil in my hair treatments, I add it to my bb cream or liquid mineral foundation for a smoother application, I wash my face with it, I rub it on dry cuticles and rough heels of my feet, I have put a tiny dot on my lips when I need some added moisture, and I have made Calendula oil with it.

The list of uses (and benefits) for Argan oil are extensive. What do you use Argan oil for? Leave a comment and let me know.
