Large Sampler Gift Set from Sunnybrook Gardens Ltd Campaign Review

I was sent some handmade bath goodies recently and I wanted to tell you about them! I love natural bath and body products. I love coconut oil and shea butter and essential oils. I find them to be of higher quality than synthetic chemical based ingredients.

Sunnybrook Gardens is a family owned and operated shop that makes soaps, skincare, bath salts, and lip care products that heal, protect, soften, and cleanse. Angela uses gentle and skin nourishing ingredients in her products. I was sent some soap, some lip products, and shaving soap. My husband and I both use vintage 1960's Lady Gillette safety razors, a vintage shaving brush, and various shaving soaps/creams. It is called "wet shaving" and is awesome! I love lathering up a nice natural bar of soap and having a relaxing leg shave! Modern shaving is rushed and does not allow for the pampering that a nice vintage wet shave provides. Also, most shaving gels or creams on the store shelves today are full of synthetic fragrances and ingredients. Many ingredients are difficult to pronounce. I have tried the shaving soap from Sunnybrook Gardens and it does not disappoint. It provides a nice foam and my razor glides along my skin for a smooth shave. Natural soaps will not lather as much as the synthetic, chemical-laden soaps (sodium laurel/laureth sulfate) but you will not miss the lather as you will find that your skin is no longer dried out, flakey or itchy. You will still have lather so do not worry. :) This shaving soap is a generous 4 ounces and comes in a plastic jar. You can dip your wet shaving brush inside and whip up a nice lather and then transfer the shaving brush to the palm of your hand for an extra boost of froth! Angela also makes round "soap pucks" to fit in your own shaving mug or scuttle.

I highly recommend a fun vintage mug from etsy or a flea market and then putting her round soap inside. :)

The shaving soap scent is very subtle and is definitely perfect for a man or a woman.

**The cold process Barbershop Shaving Soap is also available in a round circle soap size to fit nicely into most shaving mugs.**

Shaving Soap Ingredients: saponified oils of organic coconut, organic olive, organic castor, organic shea butter, rhassoul clay, and therapeutic grade balsam of Peru essential oil.

I have also tried her liquid castile soap and her unscented cold-process coconut milk soap for shaving and they are lovely as well. My kids can use her soap on their hands and I do not worry about harmful chemicals. This soap is lovely for the face as well.

Cold Process Hand and Body Soap Ingredients: saponified oils of organic sustainable palm oil, organic coconut oil, organic olive oil, organic sustainable palm kernel oil, organic coconut milk (organic coconut milk, organic guar gum), organic castor oil, organic cocoa butter, and organic shea butter

I am excited about this company and would love to see what she comes up with next. I suggest some shampoo bars and liquid shampoo! :)

Gya Labs Ylang Ylang Essential Oil Review

I was sent another essential oil to try this month. I do not use essential internally as I do not know enough about the safety and specific measurements. Ylang Ylang oil is a mood uplifting, sensual, sweet, exotic floral. It has been said to assist with stress and depression. I use this straight out of the bottle as a body oil/massage oil/perfume. You can also add it to shampoo, aftershave, castile soap, unscented lotion, etc. This can be mixed with jojoba oil, sweet almond oil, castor oil, sesame oil, or argan oil. There are other oils you could try as well but those are the ones I have and use. This smells warm and musky. It is a romantic and beautiful essential oil that reminds me of the scent of cola with spices and floral. I like to put a little on my hair and behind my ears. I wear it on my shoulders and pulse points. You can find this on Amazon
Gya Labs says the Ylang Ylang flowers used for this oil are freshly hand-picked and steam distilled to extract the healing and fragrance properties without harming the purity.

QUEEN ROSE 3" Premium Mattress Topper Review

I like this product overall. It is an alternative to down from what I understand. The inside is a cotton fiber based on what the tag states. The Amazon description says it is a down fiber fabric. I would have preferred actual down feathers. I am going to remove the straps and use this topper as an insert into my duvet cover as we do not need this on our memory foam Tempurpedic bed. This mattress topper is white with an attractive damask print. This is a 100% cotton cover. The quality is nice and I have enjoyed using it. We have used it to sit on during movie night with the family and I have fallen asleep with this as a blanket. It is meant to be secured to the mattress for extra softness. This is 3 inches thick.

This was sent to me for review.

Cacao Lab - Ceremonial Grade Theobroma Cacao (Water Blend) Review

I love my daily smoothies. I always add some sort of protein powder, ice, some sort of 100% juice or filtered water, and then either fruit and veggies. Sometimes I decide to make it a sweet milkshake-like smoothie with cacao powder, ice, milk, and banana. Sometimes I make an iced matcha latte smoothie. This past week I have been trying a cacao powder that is ceremonial grade. This one is unique because it has maca and coriander spice in it. It has a little kick in flavor and it has the extra benefits of maca. I love ceremonial matcha tea powder and so I was pleased to find a ceremonial quality cacao powder. I find that these ceremonial-grade powders are always fresher, more potent in flavor, and higher quality than culinary grades. I was sent an 8 oz can of cacao powder to review from Cacao Lab. I like how the company says that chocolate is food not candy. I like my chocolate to taste rich and slightly unsweet. I am not fond of the highly waxy, and sugary sweet candy bars that are found at the checkout lanes. I like this product as it gives me energy and is enjoyable to eat without making me sick to my stomach or making me feel guilty.

I was sent this for my own opinion and was not compensated other than the complimentary product.

I have not tried this drink hot, however, that is how this particular product is intended. I make mine iced and in a blender. I add 1 or 2 bananas (I like my bananas before they are ripe as they are tart and less sweet). I also add milk, xylitol (birch) for sweetener (or you can use sugar), ice, and then the cacao. I added protein powder (made from whey, grass-fed cow milk) for 27 grams of protein. I really like how it turned out. This cacao smells amazing and is very rich and high quality. You can find this on Amazon. I recommend this product.
