Nora's Brushes - Oval Brush Set (Makeup Brush Set Review)

I have wanted to try these "toothbrush" type makeup brushes ever since I saw them on a youtube channel (I am such an insomniac and love binge watching beauty guru videos late at night). I was provided this set from Nora's Brushes (there are numerous brands that make these types of brushes, but this is one that I have experience with) and are being sold from Little Red Gift (Amazon Seller).  I have a mini review of them for you.

These are my first of this type of oval "toothbrush face brush". They take some practice, but they are definitely fun to use and I must admit and am liking them.  I will get better at using them as I learn.  I am not sure I will get much use from the tiny or thin ones. The eyeliner brush I most likely won't use (and have not used yet) as I like a sharp, cat eye liquid black liner.  I use Stila's felt tip liquid liner pen and have not used gel pot eyeliners for a few years.  I am sure the skinny brush would be great for a smokey smudged liner look. I am happy to see that there are some suggestions of how to use each brush (on the Amazon listing).

I got a freebie silicone sponge with the set (hidden under the black plastic tray) which was a nice surprise in the box. I am pretty devoted to my hot pink beauty blender sponge, so I am not sure how often I will use the silicone sponge.  It also feels weird in my hand.  Very Weird Indeed.  But it is a nice bonus product that many people will get use out of as these are really popular right now!

I will get the most use from the 3 or 4 biggest oval brushes.  I think this is a nice set and I am pleased that so far I have not had any shedding.  The brush hairs are very soft.  These are attractive looking and the font is nicely done as well.  There was not much (if any) of a chemical odor, which was a blessing (my experience from many makeup brush sets I have tested in the past).  The handles are a rubbery material and have some "give" when used on my face.  This is the part that takes some time getting used to as I lose a little control over them.  (but not so much as to make my foundation messy or cakey).  I really like using these for foundation/bb cream and blush.  I am loving the "contour #5" brush for my Urban Decay Primer Eyeshadow Potion and eyeshadow.  I find this does a better job for me than the skinny #6 and #7 that are designed for eyeshadow.  Again, this is just my opinion and experience.  I love makeup and have used it for years, but I am not in anyway a professional with the application, so simple and convenient is what I need.

I really LOVE this set.  They work well and my foundation looks smooth, covers well, and gives me the natural, but healthy skin look.  I did try these slightly damp, and that really works well for me!

I think this would make a nice gift for someone and the price is great considering there are other more expensive sets out there.

Queen Rose U Shaped Pregnancy Body Pillow (Review)

I wanted to do a short review on a pillow I was sent recently for my unbiased opinion. I am not pregnant, but as I have back pain almost daily and frequent insomnia, and so I thought I might try something new for support. We do have a Tempur-Pedic bed that works to some extent, but I think it is too soft and does not support my back as much as I need. I am a side sleeper and I also toss and turn a lot. I use a pillow under my head, on top of my head, clutched in my arms, and in between my knees. :) We have a queen size bed so already there is not much excess space, and I am thinking of adding a GIANT crazy shaped pillow?? Yes. I might as well try.

This is 100% Cotton and looks very similar to most pregnancy pillows I have seen. In fact, it was interesting to note that the pillow was packaged twice (with pillow directions for the actual brand of the pillow as well as the pillow under the Queen Rose Amazon store name) inside the cardboard shipping box. It seems this might be a generic or wholesale brand that can be sold under the name/branding of other stores.

This oversized, U-shaped pillow is designed to follow the natural shape of a woman's pregnant body. As a woman's belly expands and the baby gets bigger (taking up more space and putting a strain on the mother's organs and such) back pain is inevitable. Support is needed to provide some relief.

While I am not pregnant, I have seen others use this type of pillow effectively for reducing strain and providing a more comfortable sleep. This can be used for drug-free pain relief and comfort (whilst sleeping) for people with all many types of health issues such as fibromyalgia, sciatica, gastric reflux, congestion, carpal tunnel syndrome, and the like.

I do not use it as pictured in the first (stock) photo. I found that the pillow was not comfortable on my head and was not more comfortable than my memory foam pillow (Sleep Number CoolFit Foam Contour Pillow).  This was much too stiff and overstuffed for my head or neck.  I decided to flip the pillow around and have the U-shaped area at my knees/legs/feet. This worked much better for me. I am able to use this for pillow clutching (like a large teddy bear) and knee support. The U-shape still helps with back support as well.

This maternity body pillow has been used for nursing my baby as well. It is also a great lounging pillow. Overall I like this pillow a lot. It does take an incredible amount of room in the bed and I dislike when I need to get out of bed in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom as it takes a few extra moments to get fully situated and comfortable again.  I like how it aligns my knees and provides support for my back.

I am pleased that the cover unzips for washing, however, would have liked a much softer pillow case included.  I also do not think white is practical.  There are pink and blue options, however, they seem to be more pastel shades.

This was sent to me complimentary for review. This is my honest opinion.

Queen Rose provides 30-day refund or exchange GUARANTEE if you are not satisfied with the body pillow.

Luming Premium All Natural Cold Baked Rose Flower Tea Review

I love drinking tea as it is healthy, aromatic, and flavorful. Tea can be beneficial in healing health conditions, detoxing, relieving stress as well as be used topically on skin and hair. I always prefer using whole, loose leaf or flower teas instead of bagged teas that have been shredded to small fibers and potentially processed.  I find it relaxing to drink tea hot in the evenings or in cooler months. I love using fragrant floral teas to naturally nourish my skin and hair.  You can brew tea, allow it to cool, then put it in a spray bottle to spritz your hair or face.  This is very soothing, especially if you put the bottle in the fridge!

I was recently sent a rose tea from Luming Tea, complimentary for review.  It comes in a gorgeous cardboard box that is sturdy and fits together in 2 pieces.  The tea itself is packaged inside a bag that keeps it fresh and locks out light.  According to the manufacturer, this rose tea has approximately 60 to 65 rose blooms which make approximately 30  7 oz. servings.  These are dried rose blooms and not only are these beautiful and aromatic, but this "tea" has no preservatives, additives or artificial ingredients.  These are "cold baked" which keeps maintains the potency of freshness and purity.

I like this "rose tea" and use it mainly for spritzing my hair and face.  I do not drink it as I generally enjoy the flavor of Jasmine floral, peppermint or herbal teas over rose.  I do enjoy the fragrance of this tea and how it makes my hair and skin feel.  I also mix the tea with my natural shampoo.
