Beard Command Oil and Beard Balm Kit for Men (Review)

I was recently sent a Cherry scented Beard Oil and Beard Balm/Butter Kit for my husband to try. He has worn a full but neatly groomed beard for 10+ years. He keeps it a moderate length but it is thick and has some curl to it. It often gets unruly due to the natural curl and the coarse sprigs of grey that pop up. :) (LOL.) It is true. We frequently joke that he needs some "Just for Men" beard dye.

He often uses beard oil or a balm similar to soft hold styling wax that grooms and conditions his beard. He has been testing this one from Beard Command. You can find them on Facebook. I like the cherry scent and find that it reminds me of a tobacco cherry pipe or a sweetly fragranced cigar. I do not smoke (neither does he) but we often like a tobacco-scented aftershave or body wash on him. I like the skin and hair follicle nourishing ingredients in the balm and oil. I do find that the oil is a stronger scent than the balm. I prefer the balm fragrance. They are similar but the oil triggers my migraines if I sniff it up close, directly from the bottle or too much is used. I admit I have dabbed some of the oil around my neck and behind my ears as I like the scent. I just cannot put it on too heavily as it is very strongly scented. I think this is a beautiful and mysterious unisex scent. This set is perfect for any bearded fellow and the product should last a long time. We have had this a month and he does not need to use much if the balm to smooth and tame his beard. He scrapes the balm with his nail and then warms the balm between his fingers or palms. He applies the balm after he has brushed his beard. He has a rounded boar bristle beard brush, a wooden comb, and a badger hair brush. The badger hair brush is actually a regular hair brush that he brushes both his hair on his head and the beard hair on his face. It is always a funny sight to see him use a full-sized hairbrush on his beard. The photo of the balm shows about how much has been used in a two-week period. We like the packaging of the balm. The tin is nice in the hand and the logo/photo is classy.

I love that this is made in the USA and cruelty-free. The ingredients are great and we use natural products whenever possible.

Balm - Beeswax, Shea Butter, Kokum Butter, Sweet Almond Oil, Essential Oils
Oil - Argan Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Essential Oils

I was sent this set for my honest opinion. I received no sponsorship/payment. I received only an evaluation sample set for review.

Menthonol Lotion for Sore Muscles and Joint Pain Review

I was sent some muscle relief lotion from Menthonol. I have frequent back pain and my 7-year-old has leg pain at night. I am thinking it is the common growing pains like I have when I was her age. I remember they felt like Charley Horses in my legs and I would cry about them. I have used this on her legs and although it makes her legs a little chilly cold, she appreciates that this helps with the pain. She does not take OTC medication when she has pain. We keep things as natural as possible. This cream and a banana (potassium) usually help her relax enough to go back to bed. My husband uses this cream on his tired, achy legs, feet and ankles. I use it on my back, neck, and forehead. Even though I mainly get migraines, I often have tension/stress headaches as well. This helps with lessening some of the pain when I use it around my forehead and temples. I like using it on my lower back as I frequently have lower back pain. My husband has frequent shoulder pain due to the way he sleeps.

I love that this cream is natural and does not contain petroleum. We do not use Vicks vapor rub as it contains petroleum and turpentine oil. I have had several colds this winter, due to a first grader who brings home her friend's colds. It seems that a lot of her friends go to school when they are still very sick and contagious. I am guessing their parents both work and do not want to stay home? :)

I kid you not, I have had at least one cold every 4-6 weeks since October. I have only tested this cream for a month, but I used it during my most recent cold. I suffer from frequent, miserable, stuffed up nasal passages and sneezing. I cannot breathe when I get colds. I never take OTC cold medicines, except for the occasional homeopathic children's' Zarbees. This is a great menthol lotion to put up high on my chest and near my neck to breathe in some of the vapors. For my kids, I put menthol cream on the bottom of their feet and cover them with socks.

When I found out that this had Emu oil, I was super excited. I love that oil because it is transdermal and goes deep into the tissue and helps with pain. Arnica oil is another fantastic ingredient!

Here are the ingredients, straight from the website: (The following was copied and pasted exactly from the Menthonol website.)

MENTHONOL INGREDIENTS (including ingredients approved by the US FDA for the temporary relief of minor aches and pains of muscles and joints associated with arthritis, strains, and simple backache):
  • SEANOL-S: powerful, patented extract from the Ecklonia cava marine algae with powerful healing properties, including:  healthy inflammatory responses that both heal and protect as a result of improved blood condition and flow; significant blood circulation improvements and overall promotion of vascular   health that heals joints, muscles and surrounding tissue; and strong anti-oxidant scavenging of free radicals that reduces oxidative stress and promotes healthy cellular function.
  • MENTHOL: one of nature’s most effective pain relievers, menthol has analgesic properties that provide relief from many aches and pains.  In response to inflammation, menthol delivers a strong cooling sensation by stimulating receptors that recognize temperature change and cause “cold” signals to be sent to the brain providing relief from the painful “burning” of inflammation.
  • CAMPHOR: delivers dual cooling and heating sensations.  When applied it cools and numbs nerve endings and a short time later it warms the painful area as it increases healing circulation to stiff and sore muscles or joints.  This analgesic effect is highly effective in reducing or eliminating the pain messaging being transmitted from sore or injured areas of the body.
  • EMU OIL: includes a powerful trans-dermal agent that can penetrate deep into and beyond the top layers of skin.  It contains high levels of linoleic acid, which is a polyunsaturated omega-6 fatty acid known to ease joint discomfort and reduce swelling.
  • ARNICA OIL: Potent healing properties are generally attributable to its thymol and helenalin compounds. Both compounds can be effective as a vasodilator of subcutaneous blood capillaries, which helps facilitate the flow of blood and acts to promote healthy inflammatory responses and to assist normal healing processes.  Specifically, arnica oil aids in stimulating the flow of white blood cells, which process congested blood to help disperse trapped fluid from the joints, muscles and bruised tissue.
I received this cream complimentary to review. This is my honest opinion on it. It is a top quality cream and I love it. I highly recommend it. I receive no payment to tell you about this item. If you happen to purchase it, that is great! Please know I do not receive any benefit from anyone purchasing this product. I just like spreading the word about good products that are NATURAL.

Bluetooth 4.2 Headphones Archmage SoundClean09 Review

I was sent some bluetooth headphones this month for my review. They are working well for me and I use them each day. They came with a molded foam zipper storage case. They are nice looking headphones that fold somewhat flat when storing. I would have preferred them to be pink though! The color is a deep blue with a very slight touch of teal. I actually had planned to give them to my husband after my review but I like them a lot and he has not gotten the chance to try them! :)

They can be used with an aux cable or charged by micro USB and then used wirelessly. The charge can potentially last up to 50 hours! I generally just use them with the cord as I use these with my MacBook Pro. The sound is clear and these are fairly comfortable to wear. I always prefer headphones instead of earbuds. The $50 price range is reasonable for these. I have never had headphones over the $100 range so I cannot compare these to more expensive brands. For the casual once or twice a week movie watcher like me or someone who just likes listening to some music in their spare time, these work well. I have no complaints with these. There has not been any static with these.

*These were sent complimentary for review/testing.

Sore Throat Spray Throat37 by Clyor (Review)

I was sent this natural throat spray for my honest review from Clyor. It is called Throat37. It helps with prevention of strain and issues while also can be used when strain or discomfort is present. This product can provide relief from a sore throat from sickness or soothe and protect your throat if you use it extensively for singing and speaking. It contains an herbal tincture that provides lubrication for the throat and vocal cords. The ingredients are wonderful and boost immunity and can potentially shorten a cold. I often take Echinacea tea and Elderberry when I am sick and I appreciate that this contains these ingredients. I like that it is an easy to use, convenient spray in an amber colored glass bottle.

I have only used this for a week as I decided to use this for my sore throat and cold. I usually get a sinus/chest/head cold several times a year. Just this winter alone, I have had at least 3 colds, due to a first grader who brings nasty germs home and then passes it to her 2 younger brothers and then I catch it after being around the kids as I stay at home. I am hoping this cold will be cut in half. I also try to eat a lot of raw honey and sip hot herbal teas.

Bona Dea Naturals Feminine Oil Blend (All Natural Feminine Spray with Essential Oils) Review

I love essential oils and use them daily for most everything. I cleanse my face with them and treat skin issues with them, I use them for disinfecting and cleaning, etc. They have many uses and benefits. I also love the various natural fragrances of essential oils. I love being able to buy a few products and get multiple uses from them.

I was recently sent an essential oil blend that is geared toward women and promoting wellness, specifically for female issues. This oil blend was created for promoting a healthy function of a woman's most private areas. This oil blend can have other uses as well. I specifically use it after the shower to moisturize, beautify, and protect my skin. I use it as a pre-deodorant under my armpits and around/between/under my cleavage area. I use natural, baking soda free deodorants and so this helps prevent underarm odor for me. This supercharges my deodorant. :) I then apply my Zinc Oxide and Magnesium based natural deodorant after this oil has absorbed. I use Schmidts Sensitive Deodorant. The essential oils keep bacteria away. I like the ingredients in this oil. It has an herbal fragrance that is natural and smells appealing. I like the spray top. It makes it very convenient. The bottle is a dark amber glass bottle and protects the oil from light.

This oil is found on Etsy and Bon Dea Naturals' own website. They also sell some of their items on Amazon

I like this product and recommend it. I do not specifically use it as it is intended, however, I did try it a few times (for its intended use as a healthy feminine area balancing oil and as a vaginal issue preventative) and it is a lovely product. The ingredients are good. I used it directly on the area but wore a panty liner just in case to prevent any staining. I have not had any oil staining when used as a deodorant body oil but I figured it was a good idea to wear a liner just in case.

I have a history of getting urinary tract infections and yeast infections. I get one or the other about once a year. I will keep this product in mind for those issues, in hopes that this will provide relief. I always try to treat and heal my body with natural methods first when possible.

You can find Bona Dea Naturals on Facebook.
