Kazu 100% Organic Premium Sushi Nori Seaweed: Reviewed

I love sushi. But I am not a raw sushi lover. I eat the cooked kind (Similar to California roll) and love white rice, avocado, carrots, celery, or cream cheese in them. I also like the Ebi shrimp kind or the fried crispy shrimp roll with the tail in the air like it is diving. :)

I have never made sushi and would not even come close to rolling it to the standards of sushi enthusiasts or perfectionists. I received some Sushi Nori Seaweed from Kazu Trading Company. I did not know what to use this for as I did not have any seafood in the house and was overwhelmed to attempt rolling it. I do however like lettuce wraps and figured this would be a delicious and healthy substitute. I made 2 wraps for my lunch. The first wrap was made with spreadable cream cheese, sliced garden tomatoes, sea salt, rosemary, basil, ground black pepper and a touch of nutmeg for a little extra. This wrap tasted delicious, it just was not real pretty as the Nori was a bit thicker than I was expecting. But I loved it. It was crunchy with a slight fish essence.

Although Nori does not contain a lot of fiber and protein, it does contain about a gram of each according to Livestrong.com. Seaweed does contain an abundance of minerals from the ocean.

Here are some Nutrients that Seaweed Nori contain: (Vegetarian.lovetoknow.com)

Folic acid
Magnesium
Riboflavin
Vitamin B6
Sodium
Potassium
Phosphorous
Chromium
Calcium
Iron

The other Nori wrap I made was a simple over-easy fried egg sandwich with colby cheese, sea salt, red and black crushed pepper. It was very good and a nice change from my usual toasted English muffin fried egg and cheese sandwich.

I have been pleased with the Kazu company and I look forward to trying out more products from them. Keep on the lookout for more reviews!
