Omega 3 Fish Oil by Vita Optimum: Reviewed and GIVEAWAY

I have been taking DHA for many years now. I started about 6 months before getting pregnant with my first child, our daughter, and continued throughout my entire pregnancy, mama milk feeding, and today. I fully believe it is important to maintain a healthy body, both for myself and my growing babies. DHA assists with healthy nervous system and brain function. It also assists with vision development and health. DHA is active in maintaining normal triglyceride levels, a heart health, and maintaining proper blood pressure.

My second child is now 5 months, and I am still taking DHA. He gets DHA from Mama milk--not one drop of formula yet. I had been taking plant based DHA for many years, however recently decided to try a fish based one that I knew I could trust. Pills containing plant based oils must be converted by the body to create DHA. For the longest time I was wanting to stay away from fish based DHA due to concerns of high levels of mercury and unsafe practices in producing the pills.

Vita Optimum Fish Oil is regulated and safe. This brand is both 5 Star IFOS and MSC Certified and it is MADE IN THE USA in an FDA Registered and GMP/NSF Certified lab. That is VERY reassuring to know. The facilities that produce these supplements pass FDA regulations.

Vita Optimum is based in San Francisco California. They were established in 2013, and had the heart felt passion to create safe, top quality, natural vitamins and supplements. The company cares about their customers and wants to provide the best in their products and in customer service. They believe that if you do not love their product or you do not feel it works well for you, that you should ask for a refund and they will happily do that for you. They strive for excellence.

This product contains 1,300 mg of total Omega-3 Fatty acids, including 800 mg of EPA, 400 mg of DHA and 100 mg of other Omega-3 Fatty acids. The top quality fish oil found in the Vita Optimum brand comes from "sustainably fished and wild caught, MSC certified Walleye Pollock from Deep Alaskan Ocean Waters." It contains "Astaxanthin" which is a type of Carotenoid. Carotenoids are red in color (that is why these pills are reddish--I am so happy this a a NATURAL color and not a chemical based food dye) These pigments are found naturally in certain algae and plants. Sometimes the body can turn these pigments into vitamin A. These Carotenoids are powerful antioxidants that can help prevent some forms of cancer and heart disease, and assist with the immune system.

As a dietary supplement, take 2 soft gels daily, or as directed by your healthcare professional. For best absorption, take them with meals. Both my husband and I have tried these pills for about 2 1/2 weeks and have not had any unpleasant aftertaste or fish burps. These are large pills, however neither of us have a difficulty swallowing them. We take our fish pills at night, about an hour after dinner, with a snack and a full glass of water (along with our other pills). Neither of us have had any side effects or discomfort taking them. No fishy aftertaste and no smelly burps.
