Hydracentials Sporty 25 Oz Insulated Stainless Steel Water Bottle: Reviewed

Since I am feeding our infant mama's milk, I need even more water than the average non breastfeeding person. It is recommended that the least amount of water a person should drink is 64 oz of water per day. That does not talk into account those that are athletes, exercise enthusiasts, those working hard labor outside in the hot sun, or breast feeding mamas. There are also those who take certain medications that will need more water than the bare minimum.

According to Livestrong.com, a simple way to figure out your individual recommended daily intake of water, is to take your body weight and divide it by two. Let's just say I need a lot more than 64 oz.! I have been trying to get my water intake up and often drink water out of store bought bottles. I do have a love for Dasani, it is my brand of choice, however, I go through a 24 pack with some frequency and that does get quite costly. Then there is the fact that I am using a lot of plastic and making more trash--not very environmentally friendly.

I found a company that makes a reusable stainless steel water bottle. I am loving it and have been using it daily. It is called the Hydracentials Sporty 25 Oz Insulated Stainless Steel Water Bottle. It has a Flip Cap Straw, is a classy white color and is BPA Free. I am very picky with containers as most of them either have a leaking problem, adjust the taste of the water, or get wet on the outside due to condensation.

This one is really nice and my hands (and cup holder) stay dry. I do want to mention, it is rather top heavy in the car cup holder, but most of the time, my husband is driving and I just hold my water bottle and sip. :) The inside keeps my water nice and crisp due to the stainless steel. I put in refrigerated filtered water one morning at 10 am with 2 small ice cubes, left it at home all day on our kitchen table (had forgotten it when we went to a baby doctor appointment and all day errands) and when we finally came home that day around 7pm, I kid you not, it was still cold!

This has a double wall insulation, which is what keeps it from getting my hands and other things wet. It is perfect for use at the gym, at the office, at home, at a picnic or park and most anywhere. The loop at the top makes it convenient to carry, or you can hook onto a carabineer. I have not hooked mine, so that feature I have not tested. I really like the white color, and the slender tall shape of the bottle in comfortable to hold. It is made from food grade stainless steel. The bottle of the bottle has a black foam which protects both the bottle and whatever it sits on from nicks or scratches.

The straw is really easy to open and close, and works well. You do not need to tip the bottle, the straw is connected to the flip top. Wonderful! I like how the straw mouth part is square shaped. I am not sure if the square shape (as compared to a tube shape) improves the drinking ability, but I like the way it looks and it is comfortable to drink from. What really sells me on it is the fact that as long as I push the straw all the way closed, I can turn the bottle all the way upside down and have zero leaking. This makes is easy to put in a backpack or large purse.
