The two products I will be reviewing today are the adult version of Algae Omega and the liquid form for babies.
I have taken Omega and DHA for many years now since before getting pregnant with my first child. Omega-3s are essential fatty acids, they are necessary nutrients that promote a healthy heart, healthy eyes, and a healthy brain and mood. Everyone needs these for a healthy body. I had been taking a plant based Omega DHA for the past few years. It was a well known prenatal brand and I was happy with it. I wanted to take plant based as I wanted to prevent any uncertainty of whether my pills contains mercury and unhealthy substances from fish. It was only recently that I tried Nordic Naturals Omegas from fish oil, and was happy to find that they have strict guidelines and certification standards to ensure their fish oil is safe. I liked their lemon flavored fish oil omega product, however was even more excited to see that they had an algae based Omega. Not only was the pill smaller, but it eased my mind even more. I am loving the Algae Omegas. They are working well for me. Nordic Naturals Algae Omega is a vegetarian alternative to fish oil. It is a plant-based source of marine omega-3s EPA and DHA. Algae Omega's combination of EPA and DHA is a safe, and effective source. I have tried it 2 weeks with no problems.
Directions: Two soft gels, with food, or as directed by your health care professional or pharmacist.

The other product I received to review was in liquid form and came with a dropper. I have been giving this to my 6 month old each night. This is made from microalgae, nature’s original source of marine omega-3s. Nordic Naturals Baby’s DHA Vegetarian is safe and effective for babies 6 months and older (or as directed by your pediatrician) to get the DHA they need for healthy development. The liquid is not the most pleasant smelling, but I like knowing my little one is getting healthy nutrients to support his brain, heart, and eye health. He has tried it for a week so far with no problems, he is exclusively breastfed and gets 1.0 ml.
