Ecosak Nut Milk Bag: Reviewed

I had had the luxury of trying 4 nut milk bags in the past year. I have used each one for different items. They all seem to have functioned well for the task, yet all of them have varied in texture, appearance, and overall structure. All are a mesh material but some were more stiff and some were softer. I noticed big differences in the bottom seams (serged, welded, thicker, thinner, etc.). The draw string at the top of these bags has been different, whether it was a different thickness of string or the draw string closure varied in how it was constructed. My first nut bag strainer that I reviewed (not pictured as it is kept separately from my food/drink nut bags and is continually oily), I made homemade Calendula oil from dried Marigold Calendula petals and infused them in Argan, Jojoba, Sweet Almond Oil, and Rose Hip oil. The second nut milk bag I made vanilla almond milk. The third one made cold brew coffee shakes with cinnamon and honey, and now today I am going to tell you about making an herbal tea hair rinse or herbal tea brew (for drinking).

The bag I am reviewing today is the Ecosak, and it is by far the softest of the 4 bags and has the thickest seam. It is also shaped a bit differently that the others.

This bag is FDA Certified food grade mesh and is BPA free. This is a large bag, at 12" x 10" and the bottom is rounded which makes it more user friendly with cleaning. I like the thick seam around the edges of the bag, which keeps things tidy, it also seems really sturdy. Honestly I think this is the nicest of the 4 nut milk / straining bags I have tried, both in appearance and structure. It is REALLY soft to the touch.

I decided to use this one for loose leaf tea. I took about 3 heaping teaspoons of some nutrient rich pregnancy / nursing tea and mixed it with some other nettle based tea (this was what I had on hand and and it is packed with hair loving ingredients.) and put them into the bag. I took about 12 oz of hot boiling water (I use my Keurig for quick results), and poured it over the sack while the sack was in a glass rectangular baking dish (drawstring cinched closed at top). I covered the bag of hair tea and let it "brew" and cool for about 3 hours. Do not put this in the fridge or you will feel like you are doing the famous "Ice Bucket Challenge" in your shower.

This tea mix contained: Organic peppermint, organic horsetail, organic oatstraw, organic chamomile, organic rosemary, organic sage, and organic nettle. These ingredients promote hair growth and strengthen the hair.

After it was brewed and cooled I used this on my freshly washed and conditioned hair. I did not rinse out, as I wanted the tea to stay in my hair and soak up all the wonderful nutrients. This smelled fantastic and helps with softening my hair and giving it a natural healthy luster.

This Ecosak strainer bag worked well and I would highly recommend it. If you are not wanting to do a hair rinse, all these teas are safe for drinking (they came from my kitchen cabinet). Make some loose leaf tea today! It is so much better than regular bag tea from a box. (I think it is better.) Make some extra for a nice relaxing hot cup of tea, I add honey to sweeten. (Honey is great for hair as well). I often wash my face with honey and sugar---a truly fantastic skin softener and rinses easy.
