GCH (GirlsCrochetHeadbands.com) Romper review and GIVEAWAY!

Summer, yes summer I like best. Spring is nice, with all the fresh green grass, cute bunny rabbits, and brightly colored newly budding flowers, but the rain makes spending time outside a bit inconvenient and when we dress to impress, as our hair and clothing (and purses!) get drenched, and that is not cute, not cute at all. I have a 3 1/2 year old girl. I have always wanted a girl to dress up and make her look adorable. Since she was born, everything has been pink. Some purples, but mainly pink, as I love pink best. Ruffles, yep, those I like best too.

When I got the opportunity to try out and review a cute summer romper for my little girl, I jumped at the chance. I was able to pick one from the GCH Website and wow what a selection! Love pink? They have almost 20 rompers that are pink toned or include pink on the romper. That is JUST the romper section. That is also just the pinks, they have an extensive selection of ALL colors and patterns. The rompers come in either cotton or silky satin. You can choose ruffles or bubble style. The company is called GCH, otherwise known as Girls Crochet Headbands.

Here is the size chart:

I selected size large for my 32 lb 3 1/2 year old. I selected the Floral Satin Ruffle Romper. The "softly sweet floral pattern is enhanced with ruffles and a light pink bow." It reminds me of attire worn at a little girl's vintage tea party complete with delicate roses that look like they would be painted on tiny tea cups. Look at this Beauty!

Here is my daughter looking cute. Don't you agree? She is totally loving her romper. She has worn it twice already, and we will wear it several more times this summer. If only we had this when she had her Easter pictures this year! (we had a real live bunny) We really love this romper and like how it is stretchy. It will fit a variety of sizes without looking to loose or too tight.

The only complaint I have is that I was thinking these were made by a mom or group of moms. I was caught off guard when I saw the made in China tag inside. The website does wholesale items so obviously it would be difficult to do such a large batch of rompers at a time.

I also did see that ours had some unraveling of the elastic string near the ruffle part and unfinished seams on the straps before being worn. Now these are amazing looking rompers, and the price CANNOT be beat. The selection is amazing. These are perfect for photo shoots, special occasion, etc. I am not sure how durable they are for daily wear (such as regular play at a daycare or a long day out with the family doing errands or visiting a zoo or someplace (the satin one we have could get caught on something). The cotton ones would be more durable. Our satin one says hand wash, so I am not sure how easily this would clean if she got it dirty. I would only wash it in the laundry if you have a washer that does not have a middle agitation (like ours) and if you use gentle detergent meant for delicates, and use a bra bag or delicates bag on delicates cycle, cold. I would not recommend drying in the dryer at all. I would lay this flat to dry.

We had her wear her satin ruffle romper for a long day of errands and a shopping trip to the grocery (she sat in a metal shopping cart with a seat belt and I was worried this would tear or snag since the romper as it is satin).

I do think that for the price and the overall selection, and look of these, they are FANTASTIC. They are ADORABLE. These are a perfect option for pictures or special occasion wear. I wished that our seams and straps were not unfinished or un-hemmed, as I am not a seamstress and do not own a sewing machine. I do think that someone who owns a sewing machine and buys these for her daughter would easily be able to hem the straps and prevent fraying, which would make them more durable.

Overall a highly recommended item. The website is super easy to navigate and well organized. The vast selection of accessories and clothing options are wonderful. I will be reviewing some headbands from them in the next few weeks, so keep a watch on the blog. We would definitely purchase from this website, they packaged the romper in a pretty hot pink tissue paper and it arrived safely to us. The headbands and bows are adorable and we are excited to see what arrives.
