I have tried numerous belly bands for pregnancy and postnatal support. I was recently sent a belly band complimentary from Mamaway to evaluate. I am using it during my last month of pregnancy to support my back, and excess weight from my expanding belly. I am packing it in my hospital bag to use after my cesarian. It is very pricy, however I have tried at least 6-10 different bands, support tanks, etc. (both purchased by myself and some sent for review and this one is the most well made and comfortable. You definitely get what you pay for. It is a bamboo charcoal mix and breathable. The material used is what they refer to a "Nano-bamboo charcoal", which is known for its powerful anti-odor and antibacterial properties.
12% Polyester, 48% Nylon, 20% Bamboo Charcoal, 20% Rubber
This charcoal material prevents bacteria and odor buildup when you're wearing it. This also makes the bamboo fibers breathable, soft and non-irritating, so you stay cool, dry and supported. This is a very soft material, and has a brushed fiber feel to it. I wear it around the house and often when we go out on errands. I have not needed to wash mine yet, but I am happy to know that cleaning it is easy. You can toss it in the washing machine in a laundry bag without worrying about damaging it. I would suggest washing on cold and hanging to dry. Shrinkage during washing and drying is said to be minimal.
I decided to get the largest size for use while I am pregnant as I am getting larger each week. The beauty of this band is that it can be cinched much smaller and I will have no issues using it after baby arrives. I am sure I will look about 5 months pregnancy the first 3 months.
I really recommend getting a nice quality belly band.
