Antioxidant Apple Stem Cell Hydrating Mask / Swiss Apple Stem Cell Mask: Ageless Derma: Reviewed

I love using facial masks, clay and mud, and various scrubs. I always use items that are natural and that have skin healthy ingredients. As I am now 32, I am always on the lookout for anti-aging, anti-wrinkle and skin hydrating products. Keeping your skin hydrated and nourished makes for a more youthful appearance. I try to drink a lot of water each day and also get plenty of fruits and vegetables in the form of smoothies and fresh produce. I have been adding spirulina, green matcha tea, and protein powder into my smoothies as well.

I had the opportunity to try a mask from Ageless Derma.  They have an anti-aging mask called Antioxidant Apple Stem Cell Hydrating Mask, and Swiss Apple Stem Cell Mask.  I was selected to review the Antioxidant one (I wanted to try it as it listed no sulfates in the ingredients when I checked on the website) but was accidentally sent the Swiss Apple one instead.

These contain natural ingredients, such as oils, enzymes, extracts, and botanicals that moisturize, smooth, tone, and exfoliate skin. Dead skin cells are removed, revealing brighter and happier skin.  Collagen  production is stimulated and skin naturally fills in, creating a more youthful appearance.  The light and fruit infused fragrance of this mask is absolutely delightful.  I was super excited to try this mask.  It is quite a unique mask.  It is not thick or dark in color like other masks I have used.  It actually feels and looks like a white lotion.  With extended use, improvement in the skin’s elasticity, suppleness and firmness can be seen, which makes skin appear more youthful.  I do want to mention that I was a bit confused on the ingredients at first.  On the website, there is was mention of Sulfates in the ingredient list for the Antioxidant Apple Stem Cell Hydrating Mask.  (I am sulfate free as many of you know).  (The names of the products were so similar that when the incorrect one (Swiss Apple Stem Cell Mask) showed up I did not realize until after I had tried it).

Ingredients Listed on Ageless Derma Website for the Antioxidant Apple Stem Cell Hydrating Mask (sulfate free) one:

Green Tea- Pomegranate- Vitamins, Purified Water, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Sunflower Seed Oil, Kaolin Clay, Propylene Glycol, Glycerine, Bentonite, Titanium Dioxide, Aluminum Magnesium Silicate, PEG 100 Stearate, Cetyl Alcohol, Emulsifying Wax, Chondrus Crispus (Carrageenans) Extract, Glyceryl Stearate, Steareth 2, Allantoin, Panthenol, Jojoba Esters, Polysorbate 20, Phenoxyethanol, Benzyl Alcohol, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Hyaluronate, Caprylyl Glycol, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Malus Domestica Fruit Cell Culture Extract, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Callus Culture Extract, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Extract, Punica Granatum (Pomegranate) Extract, Copper Chlorophylin, Tocopheryl Acetate, Hexylene Glycol, BHT, Fructose, Glucose, Sucrose, Urea, Dextrin, Alanine, Glutamic Acid, Aspartic Acid, Fragrance.

When my mask arrived, the list of ingredients were much different, the name of the mask was different than expected, and the biggest thing was that this one included Sodium Laureth Sulfate. (insert sad face here as I am a mask lover and avid user). As you can imagine, I only tried this on my skin once as I have worked hard to get where I am in the sulfate free skin (and hair) normalizing, oil balancing, improved state.  For me, sulfates bother my skin and cause me to be more oily.  I have found that oil cleansing my skin works best, along with dead sea mud masks, bentonite clay, and honey washes.

I love Ageless Derma products.  I have tested out their powder foundation, and concealer.  They have other great products as well.  I just stay away from sulfates and try to be choosy on what I put on my skin and in my hair.  This has amazing ingredients, smells so beautiful, and the packaging is sleek and the Ageless Derma name is quality, but I am saddened to see sulfates in this.

This mask is available on Amazon and the Ageless Derma Website.

Ingredients in Swiss Apple Stem Cell Mask:

Purified Water, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Kaolin Clay, Sweet Almond Oil, Safflower Oil, Glycerine, Lactobacillus/Cucurbita Pepo (Pumpkin) Fruit Ferment Extract, Hydrogenated Polydecene, Bromelain (Pineapple) Enzyme, Papain (Papaya Enzyme), Polyacrylate 13, Matricaria Recutita (Chamomile) Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Extract, Sacharomyces Lysate Extract, Polyisobutene, Polysorbate 20, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Fragrance, Phenoxyethanol Benzyl Alcohol, Methylisothiazolinone.

Not everyone is sulfate free, so I will tell you a little more about it and you may love it.  I love the fact that it uses exotic apple stem cells and botanical ingredients for their amazing antioxidant power.  I love the pure Aloe juice in this as it is fantastic at cooling and healing sore, dry and irritated skin. I love how they included kaolin clay that draws out blackheads, dirt, and toxins.  It has some other amazing ingredients such as pumpkin, papaya and pineapple, and is otherwise an impressive mask.  I sadly am unable to test this much further as for me, sulfates strip my skin over time and my particular skin gets very oily when I use sulfates.  I have been sulfate free almost 2 years and use the oil cleansing method.

Paraben Free

Directions:

Apply the mask thinly to cleansed skin and let it remain for 15 minutes.  Steaming is optional. (I love steaming my skin and do it when I oil cleanse my face) Rinse the face thoroughly and follow by applying a moisturizer. (I like applying Vitamin C serum, Hyaluronic Acid, and then my moisturizer).
