Café Don Pablo Coffee: Reviewed and GIVEAWAY!!!

I enjoy coffee, but lately in the last year I have had to slow down on my coffee drinking due to my pregnancy and due to extreme heartburn and discomfort from the acid in coffee. I would immediately get sick after having a cup of coffee. It is weird, but a iced frappuccino at Starbucks never bothered me, but regular coffee would. Besides the discomfort from drinking the coffee, I had to slow down my consumption because I did not want so much caffeine in my body.

My baby is now here, he is 3 months and so I am back to drinking 1 cup of coffee about 2 times a week. (I am feeding him naturally, so trying to limit caffeine still). My husband drinks about 2 cups a day. He loves a volcanic (VERY hot) cup of coffee even in 90+ degree weather. I was happy to get the opportunity to try a brand I had never heard of, that apparently has quite a following at Costcos, Sam's Club, and certain fine dining restaurants. It is Cafe Don Pablo, and was created by Darron Burke.

Darron met his Columbian born wife in Florida about 20 years ago, and went back with her to meet her family. He traveled throughout Latin America and discovered that the best coffee he had ever tasted was grown in Columbia. It was then that his fondness grew into a passion. The local Arabica beans, large in size and highly sought after, were the best in quality. They were grown in super lush foliage terrains, receiving their nutrients from good soil and ideal conditions. He returned to the US and decided to try his hand at making the coffee here. (Don Pablo Website)

The name "Don Pablo" was from his wife Eliana's grandmother who could not pronounce his name, Darron. The name stuck and thus Don Pablo became the name of the brand. The beans are shipped in from Colombia, Brazil, Guatemala, Costa Rica, and other parts of Latin America, hand selected and chosen by friends and family members, and roasted in Miami Florida. They slow roast in small batches to ensure the beans reach optimum flavor and freshness. When I was contacted to do a review on this coffee, I was asked my preference for whole or ground beans, and my bag was then roasted, ground and shipped to me, and arrived exactly a week later from the date of the email. Pretty amazing isn't it? This coffee seriously smells AMAZING. Just opening the bag, and having the rich aroma envelope my senses, makes me want to climb inside the bag and swim in the coffee grounds. Seriously it smells THAT good.

The flavor is top notch as well. It is not gritty or acidic or watered down tasting. My husband and I both are loving this coffee and I love the the back story as well. It is wonderful to know that this coffee was born from a romance of 2 people, whose deep love for each other, coffee, culture, family, and adventure, brought them to create such a fantastic company. They know their product, they keep in constant contact with the growers of the beans, they are fair in all partnerships, and love their customers. They desire to provide the best coffee and made it to suit their customers.
