Atomic Matcha (Organic Matcha Ceremonial Green Tea Powder) Review

I was sent a packet of Atomic Matcha from Matcha House. This is a ceremonial grade and I have been using it nearly every day for the past few weeks. I have a spoiler alert. I love it.

Ingredients:
100% Organic Ceremonial Matcha Green Tea Powder

Directions: (from the manufacturer)
Sift 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of Matcha into a bowl or cup then add 3oz of hot water (not boiling, best around 175 degrees F). Mix with a bamboo whisk or milk frother until smooth froth forms on top. Add more hot water to taste. Mix into smoothies, lattes, baked goods, and other recipes for a healthy, delicious boost. Enjoy two servings a day (about a teaspoon total) for maximum benefits.

My loosely measured and often variable recipe:

I like to use as much as 1 tablespoon of matcha (more than suggested above) in my Vitamix blender with several ice cubes (probably 8-10), and 6-8 oz whole or 2% milk, several generous sprays of "extra creamy" real whipped cream, 1 capful of non-alcohol REAL vanilla extract or some real vanilla bean powder. Sometimes I will add a sweetener of choice such as some birch xylitol or real sugar. I blend on high until everything is smooth and frothy. I like to top with a little extra helping of whipped cream. Please note, this is not low fat! LOL. I only make it this way once or twice a week. I will frequently make it with just the ice, matcha, vanilla extract, and milk and leave out the whipped cream and sugar. You can modify this by using skim milk, coconut milk, almond milk, etc. There are so many options for sweeteners as well.

I really like this brand and it is very fresh. I am picky on matcha and always prefer ceremonial grade when possible. I will still use culinary grade if that is what I have. I am picky on brands as well. The important thing is having a matcha that smells, looks, and tastes fresh.

I love matcha for the balanced energy and for the healthy antioxidants. Matcha tea gives me mental clarity. I wrok at home, late at night and then get up at 6 AM to get my daughter ready for school and on the school bus. My four year old and 2 year old are generally already up or get up soon after. I find that matcha wakes me up and does not irritate my stomach like coffee has in the past. I used to be an avid coffee drinker, but a few years ago, it would make me have acid reflux and so I drink it only once a week or less. Drinking fresh matcha is full of Vitamin B and C, iron, calcium, and amino acids. Tea is always a healthy option but matcha is even more wonderful for our bodies.

This was sent to me for review, however, this is my honest opinion of this brand and I was not compensated other than a free sample packet.
