Atomic Matcha (Organic Matcha Ceremonial Green Tea Powder) Review

I was sent a packet of Atomic Matcha from Matcha House. This is a ceremonial grade and I have been using it nearly every day for the past few weeks. I have a spoiler alert. I love it.

Ingredients:
100% Organic Ceremonial Matcha Green Tea Powder

Directions: (from the manufacturer)
Sift 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of Matcha into a bowl or cup then add 3oz of hot water (not boiling, best around 175 degrees F). Mix with a bamboo whisk or milk frother until smooth froth forms on top. Add more hot water to taste. Mix into smoothies, lattes, baked goods, and other recipes for a healthy, delicious boost. Enjoy two servings a day (about a teaspoon total) for maximum benefits.

My loosely measured and often variable recipe:

I like to use as much as 1 tablespoon of matcha (more than suggested above) in my Vitamix blender with several ice cubes (probably 8-10), and 6-8 oz whole or 2% milk, several generous sprays of "extra creamy" real whipped cream, 1 capful of non-alcohol REAL vanilla extract or some real vanilla bean powder. Sometimes I will add a sweetener of choice such as some birch xylitol or real sugar. I blend on high until everything is smooth and frothy. I like to top with a little extra helping of whipped cream. Please note, this is not low fat! LOL. I only make it this way once or twice a week. I will frequently make it with just the ice, matcha, vanilla extract, and milk and leave out the whipped cream and sugar. You can modify this by using skim milk, coconut milk, almond milk, etc. There are so many options for sweeteners as well.

I really like this brand and it is very fresh. I am picky on matcha and always prefer ceremonial grade when possible. I will still use culinary grade if that is what I have. I am picky on brands as well. The important thing is having a matcha that smells, looks, and tastes fresh.

I love matcha for the balanced energy and for the healthy antioxidants. Matcha tea gives me mental clarity. I wrok at home, late at night and then get up at 6 AM to get my daughter ready for school and on the school bus. My four year old and 2 year old are generally already up or get up soon after. I find that matcha wakes me up and does not irritate my stomach like coffee has in the past. I used to be an avid coffee drinker, but a few years ago, it would make me have acid reflux and so I drink it only once a week or less. Drinking fresh matcha is full of Vitamin B and C, iron, calcium, and amino acids. Tea is always a healthy option but matcha is even more wonderful for our bodies.

This was sent to me for review, however, this is my honest opinion of this brand and I was not compensated other than a free sample packet.

Zubels Cotton Knit Football Player Orange & White Review

I was sent a Zubel toy for my honest review. I have wanted to try out this company for a while and was thrilled to review one of their items. They have all sorts of cute creatures and friends. They have items for both girls and boys whether artistic, sporty, animals lover, princess, etc. I would recommend these even for adults as they have so many themes on their website from gnomes to pirates to princesses! They even have clothing! The items are nice quality and adorable.  The items have an heirloom, timeless appearance that would be the perfect gift for a new baby, birthday, Christmas, or Easter. Do you love gnomes, mermaids,  or frogs? Their knitted toy items would be great as a cute, quirky item to put next to your computer desk at work or keep in your teen's locker at school. They even have cute knitted keychains!! These knitted keychains would be cute as teacher/bus driver gifts. Choose a special keychain, tuck it into a fun coffee mug with a $10-15 gift card and your child will brighten their teacher's week!

I was told that a bunny ballerina doll (Betsie) would be sent (I was able to choose my favorite to do a review), however, the bunny was not sent and I could not get a reply back as to a status after a few attempts. My daughter's nickname has always been "Bunny" and she loves ballerinas, the color pink, and tutus.

I was sent a 12-inch orange and white uniform football player. I must be honest, this guy is not my first choice. It is not for any other reason than the fact that we do not do sports or watch sports. No one in our home has ever worn a sports team shirt or item. I never grew up in a sport loving household. He is out of place here at our house, however, I will find him a friend very soon. He will be loved and cherished. Sports aside, this is a well made and cuddy stuffy. He is soft and will not scratch faces or skin. There are no buttons to lose. Although I love the look of button eyes, they always make me nervous around little ones due to the hazard of choking.

The quality of the stitching is excellent on this Zubel. The seams are neat and there are no bumpy or raised seams that might be uncomfortable to skin when cuddled. The colors are bright and these items are made with attention to detail. Please excuse the dull lighting in my photos, it was late and my daughter fell asleep on the couch next to me.

This 100% cotton knit football player lovely/stuffy is available in 10 different fun team colors and is also available as a 7" rattle. It is lovingly crafted in the Philippines by artisans. I love that it is cotton and is knitted. Zubels uses Eco-friendly dyes. This is machine washable. I would suggest using a lingerie bag and zipping it closed or washing in a tied pillowcase or large sock just in case. I would be afraid that a zipper would harm it. Not only is it super soft and safe, without buttons or zippers, but it is also tested 100% safe by the U.S. Product Safety Commission Standards. You can find this fella, and so many other wonderful toys and kids' items, on Zubels website and on Amazon

Here are some examples of Zubels that might catch your eye! These caught mine!

Magnesium Citrate by Superior Labs Review

I have had insomnia and migraines for years. I will often have a full day with my 7 year old, 4 year old, and 2 year old and be dragging along around 6:00 PM, and then at 10 PM, be wide awake until 3:00 AM due to insomnia. I often take a 5 mg tablet of Melatonin each night. I have been using this for the last 30 days in addition to a natural sleep pill. My body has been severely lacking magnesium for years. I used to take the powdered form that needed to be mixed with hot water, however, I dislike warm drinks (even in winter I prefer an ice cold drink) and so I quickly got out of sync with taking magnesium. I take 2 of these pills each evening around 11 PM and 2 of my sleep pills. This has lessened my migraines (but has not gotten rid of them completely). This has helped with some of the leg pain that I have at night. I like that it does not have any fillers and that it is third-party tested. It does not have any aftertaste. The pills are rather average in size. I do not love the size, but it is a manageable size for a pill. I take these with a light snack and a glass of cold water. I received this for review and all opinions are my own.

You can find this on Amazon

"Me Time" with Yardley Soaps! Yardley Moisturizing Bath Bars Review

I love trying different types of new bath and body products when they arrive on the market. I also love using some of my all-time favorite "oldies but goodies".  There are some brands that just work without frills or excessive commercials or celebrity promotion. Yardley is one of those brands. It is timeless and has been around for generations. The fragrances, ingredients, and quality are top notch. My favorite has always been the English Lavender soap, however, Oatmeal Almond is also one I love and use frequently.

All Yardley moisturizing bath bars are paraben free and sodium lauryl sulfate free. This is an important factor for me when I select a bath and shower product. I have been sulfate free (face, body, and hair) for about 7 years. My skin stays moisturized and is nourished.

Wet shaving is what is known as the old fashioned way to shave. Your grandfather most likely used a shaving brush and metal double edge razor with razor blades. This was a slower time and shaving was an art. It was not rushed as shaving is often done today. It was a way to pamper the skin and relax. It was a way to get gussied up for a date or to go out into town. Men would either shave their own faces or they would go into town to get a nice hot lather and shave.

I find that wet shaving is relaxing for me as well. It is my "me time". I use a vintage Lady Gillette safety/double edge razor and vintage badger hair shaving brush to shave my legs and underarms. I like to use a variety of moisturizing soaps to shave. I add pure aloe vera juice, castor oil, argan oil, and either tea tree or lavender in my shaving bowl. I then lather my shaving soap of choice, in this case, it was Yardley Oatmeal Almond this month. I add my frothy brush to my bowl. I find that this mixture works well for me as a shaving soap. I also use my Yardley bar with my natural sea sponge and wash my body. I love this brand and have used it for years. The packaging is simple but beautiful. I recommend that you try this brand. You may have just found a new favorite!

I received three full size 4.25 oz. Yardley London moisturizing bath bars in the new Creamy Coconut and in the classics English Lavender and Oatmeal & Almond. All opinions are honest and my own. This is my honest review. Sponsored by BrandBacker

MAANGE Shell (Mermaid Inspired) Makeup Brushes Review (Amazon)

I have a short and sweet, mini review for you!

I was sent three travel sized makeup brushes for review. They are perfect for a mermaid or anyone that dreams they are a mermaid! They are very comfortable to hold due to the grippy texture of the shell-like mold. The synthetic bristles are soft. I like that they are packed densely and have shed only 0-2 hairs per brush. They are a luminous fuchsia and green and very cute! These can apply various makeup products. I like them but to be honest, will not use them as my daily brushes. I like a rounded makeup brush and an actual handle. However, for travel, these little beauties will do wonderfully. They easily fit into a small makeup bag. You can find these on Amazon.

Eczema Cream - Anti Itch Treatment by Insta Natural (Review)

We are currently loving this eczema skin cream by InstaNatural! My husband has been using it on his dry and cracked knuckles and fingers. My 7-year-old daughter uses it on her chin where she has been having redness and dry, irritated skin. She mentions that it stings her a little but we find that it is working. When she uses it, the skin looks so much better. Unfortunately, her irritation keeps coming back due to her constantly rubbing the area on her chin. It has become a habit that she does not notice. The cream works well to clear it up. It is gentle and has great ingredients in it. I have been very satisfied with this company. They have consistently fantastic products. This lotion/cream was sent to me for review. I have no complaints with this product and I recommend it. I love the oatmeal and shea butter in it. This lotion has skin soothing and healing ingredients that calm skin. I do not find that this is overly greasy. We only need to use a small amount of this lotion. I think the flip top lid is great.

Here is what the company says about their product: (copied and pasted directly)

Our Eczema Cream uses the power of oatmeal to soothe and relieve the itching and irritation caused by eczema. Natural oils are combined with Niacinamide and Panthenol to moisturize while strengthening the skin’s natural barrier. Our clinically-tested formula relieves the common symptoms of eczema, prevents dryness and redness, and protects the skin from external aggressors.
  • Colloidal Oatmeal – Proven active ingredient to treat and prevent eczema and the symptoms associated with eczema and rashes. Soothes, replenishes and calms the skin.
  • Shea Butter – Deeply nourishes to reduce dryness and irritation, while providing a layer of moisture to the skin’s barrier.
  • Niacinamide & Panthenol – Strengthens epidermal barrier function, supporting overall skin health and preventing transepidermal water loss. When supported, a strong epidermal barrier keeps skin hydrated and nourished.
  • Meadowfoam and Safflower Oil – Rich in essential fatty acids and nutrients to replenish and nourish dry, dehydrated and sensitive skin to reduce the appearance of redness and irritation.
