Baffle Baby Bandana Drool Bibs with Snaps Review

My toddler has used the drool bandana bibs for the past year.  He is 2 now but still wears them occasionally as we like the way they look and they do not bother him.  I was sent some from Baffle for review.  We are very fond of fox themes (we love our corduroy fox / "Cordy Roy" from Jelly Cat) and so these bibs are just right for us!  I love how they are cute for a girl or a boy.

The front is made from 100% soft organic cotton and the back is polyester fleece for absorbency.  These are the same quality as others I have tried.  These are so fashionable and a great idea for those with a boy (girls get hair bows and barrettes and boys need to accessorize sometimes too!) who want a little extra pop of color and pattern.  These protect clothing & keep your baby dry from dribble and spit ups, when my little one was teething, he drooled a lot.

This set of 4 bibs have 2 nickel-free snaps which make it easy to adjust as baby grows.  The manufacturer suggest that these bibs are for ages: 3 - 24 months, however my toddler is 25 months and still has plenty of room to grow into these bibs.

We like these are recommend them.  This set is available on Amazon.  We have many brands of these and they all are the same quality but different patterns or colors.  The only thing I am not fond of is they do get a bit pilly when washed a few times and they are not USA made.

6 Strand Cream Classic Illusion Faux Pearl Necklace and Earrings Set (Review)

If you are looking for a faux pearl necklace and earring set for less than $20 (even less than $15) I have an option for you. Please note, that this is not going to be your bridal jewelry or something suitable for an extremely dressy event, at least not in my opinion. The reason being, if you are having high definition, close up pictures taken, the flaws or inconsistencies of this necklace will probably distract from the picture. However, if you are going to a wedding and will not be the main focus of the event (bride or brides maids, mother of bride, etc), or if you are simply going to church or a nice summer party, this will be a fantastic set to wear.

I was sent an evaluation sample of an illusion necklace (faux pearl) and earrings (also faux). The necklace is 6 strands (clear tone, similar to fishing type) and can extend from 16" to 20" with the gold tone extender chain, and looks nice when worn.  I just would not suggest getting professional bridal pictures done wearing this as my necklace did have some issues with the plastic pearls.

The set is sold by Dee Zee Global on Amazon.

I think this would look lovely with a pretty floral sundress and some gold or silver metallic sandals. I particularly love my Salt Water Sandals and am expanding my collection to as many colors as available.

The earrings are lightweight studs (silver tone) and I will definitely wear them a lot more than the necklace.  The earrings have the large, flat clear plastic backing (with a gold tone metal).  I am not fond of this type of plastic backing, as they do not feel as secure in my opinion, nor do they look very delicate.  I just switched these backs out and used the traditional butterfly like backs.

This set is priced right at $12 with free Prime shipping.  It works well for semi-dressy occasions where you will not have close up pictures taken.  The earrings are nicer than the necklace.

I am not fond of the packaging this set arrives in, it cheapens the look of the set.  I think the set should have been in a simple white cardboard jewelry box with the usual white cottony padding.  I think the stock photo on the seller listing looks nice (quite lovely and professional), but does not match the budget packaging the company uses when shipping this set to the consumer.

Overall, I like the set and will wear it for casual to semi-dressy casual events.  I would prefer the threads to be thinner as they are quite noticeable.  I have worn illusion type necklaces in the past and the pearls appear to float along my neckline.  The strands of clear thread are much more noticeable on this necklace.

Here is my necklace set, along with my Vintage Stratton face powder compact (from my growing collection).   Again, the packaging needs to be improved.

(This set was sent to me complimentary for evaluation.)

First Botany Cosmeceuticals Coconut Milk Dead Sea Salt Scrub (Review)

I love coconut everything.  I drink it as a base liquid in my smoothies (coconut milk mixed with almond milk), use the unrefined, virgin coconut oil in my hair, face, body care products (make my own toothpaste and deodorant, oil pull for oral hygiene, etc.) as well as make cloth diaper safe bottom ointment for our baby.  I was excited to try a product from First Botany Cosmeceuticals.  It is a body scrub made with coconut milk, oils, and dead sea salt.  Coconut Milk Body Scrub is made with Coconut, 6 essential oils, and dead sea salt.  It contains many skin nourishing ingredients, including Vitamins A, B and E, and contains fatty acids.  It comes in a generously sized jar and sits on the side of my tub in the bathroom.  I use it on my face, chest, shoulders, legs, ankles and heels.  I pretty much use it anywhere that needs polishing and smoothing.  The oil makes it glide along my skin gently, while the salt takes care of the rough patches.

I have been using it almost daily and a little goes a long way.  You need to be careful as it can make the tub slippery on the floor.  It does have a slight coconut smell, but not as sweet or as luxuriously coconut as I had hoped.  It is not a bad smell, just a bit faint and not as fresh or vibrant as I would like.

Some users on Amazon reported that theirs was open or spilled in transit.  Mine arrived fully sealed and in bubble wrap with no issues.  I like that this is concentrated with salt and I find that I do not need to use much.  I like how each jar has an expiration date on the bottom, easily visible, along with the lot / batch number.

I like using this to prep my legs before shaving with my badger hair shaving brush and vintage Lady Gillette safety razor.  I want to mention that you can irritate your skin if you use this AFTER shaving.  I do not generally have an issue on my legs or under arms, but my husband tried this on his face after touching up under his beard and he had some razor burn.  I did have one issue with a slight redness on my legs after using this after shaving, but that was due to me running late for my prenatal doctors appointment and me being in a rush to shave.  (Safety razors are great, but take your time please).

I recommend this product and like using it.  I want to mention that it was sent to me complimentary for honest evaluation, but if you read my blog regularly, I do not like everything I review.

• Infused with skin-softening milk.
• Refines skin's texture for a polished appearance.
• Stimulates and exfoliates.
• Moisturizes skin with safflower seed and grape seed oils.
• Abundant with vitamins A, B and E.
• Rich in protein which is fabulous for damaged skin.

Mellanni Striped Bed Sheet Set 1800 thread count (review)

I was recently sent a sheet set for review from Mellanni.  These are listed as 1800 thread count microfiber sheets.  This was our first time trying a material other than cotton.  I prefer cotton, but I wanted to try these as I have never experienced microfiber sheets and I liked the stripes.  I would have preferred to be given a choice of color for my tester set, but the color I received for review is referred to as grey/silver.   I find these to have a sage green tint to them when in the sunlight/bright day light and I am not fond of the color, as they are not a true grey or silver.  I would have preferred a white set or the tan/beige.  They look a bit dark and in some lighting have an army green grey tone.

They are somewhat shiny and silky and have a much different feel than the matte, crisp feel of cotton.  They do wrinkle quite easily and are a bit thinner than I had hoped.  The material, when paired with our Tempurpedic memory foam mattress makes me wake up rather hot.  I prefer a cotton sheet set as it is more breathable.

I have only washed these twice so I cannot comment as to the longterm durability of these.  I washed them on cold and dried them in the machine on medium heat.  They are less than $40 for the queen set on Amazon so I obviously was not expecting them to rival a $100 or pricer set.  I am not in love with them, but for the price they are not terrible and we are still using them for now.

I was sent this product complimentary for review, no other compensation was provided.  This is my individual experience and opinion, my view may differ from yours.

In this photo, I am trying to compare the sheets against our window in natural daylight.  The sheet set are on top of a grey shirt of mine. They have a sage green tone in my opinion.

Organic Hooded Towel Set by Eosette (Review)

We have a 5 year old, a 2 year old, and a new arrival in 2 weeks. :) We were recently sent a hooded towel and bath mitt for review from Eosette, a seller on Amazon.  The company has an organic cotton towel that is white with a deep sea marine green edge and embroidery.  I like the fact that it is white as it is easy to keep it looking fresh and clean and is not going to be prone to color fade.  I would have actually preferred the towel to just have the white with marine green edge and no embroidery.

The company recommends the towel set for ages 0 -12 months, however I find it works just fine for our small 2 year old and should fit him for a few more months.  We definitely will be using this on his new sibling.  The towel measures 31.5″ x 31.5″. The set includes a square wash  mitt (looks similar to a oven mitt / pot holder from the kitchen) which my son likes to put on his own hands during bath play and has an attached loop to hang to dry after use.  I like the addition of the mitt and found it easy to use.

I have neglected to take a picture of the towel set in use, but here is the set before washing.  The colors are spa-like and pleasing to the eye.

You can find this set on Amazon.

*One towel and mitt were sent to me at no cost for my evaluation.  No other compensation was provided and I did not promise a positive review.

Castle/House Stainless Steel Section Plate for babies and toddlers (Review)

My two year old loves to eat.  :)  Like most all kids, he also loves having his food and snacks in a fun container or a shaped plate.  I also enjoy the sectioned plates as it makes it fun when selecting meals to fill in the spaces.  I was recently sent a castle / house shaped, 5 section, child's plate from Lifetime Inc. and a seller on Amazon.  This plate is made of durable stainless steel (has raised edges for easy use by young eaters) and measures 10.5 x 7.5 x 1.25 inch.  This is a wonderful alternative to plastic plates.   I love that it is eco-friendly and free of BPA, phthalates,  dyes, PVC, lead and other harmful substances.  This has been dropped numerous times (from a high chair onto our floor), as my 2 year old frequently throws his plate when he is done.  We have not had any dents or bents to the material.  We usually hand wash it in the sink, however have put it through the top rack of the dishwasher with no issues.  Please use common sense and do not put this in the microwave.

I would also recommend the Baby Bjorn silicone bibs (we bought 2 for my son and 2 for my daughter).  We keep  2 in the car for restaurants and 2 at home.  They rinse off easily (do not put in dishwasher) and also wipe clean with a Clorox disinfectant wipe.  We do not use cloth bibs for eating as it is too messy.  These catch EVERYTHING!  We purchased our bibs full price and they are worth it.

We like this plate and recommend it.  It is priced reasonably under $10.  You can find this on Amazon.  *I received this plate complimentary for my evaluation, no other compensation was provided.*
