T-Cell Master Supplement (with Reishi Mushroom) Review

My husband has been taking t-Cell Master for about 2 weeks.  I had never heard of this product previously but was given the opportunity to review it.  This immune and cell health supplement is made from highly concentrated Reishi mushroom bio-compounds.

The Reishi mushroom's "bio-compounds" protect and enhance cell health, and can contribute to improving overall health and longevity. They are abundant in antioxidant properties and can provide a boost in immunity to certain diseases and viruses.  Some users that take Reishi supplements have reported to have improved sleep, less anxiety, less stress and improved health. I was sent this supplement for review (at no cost).  My husband is testing it out and we will be giving our honest opinion (from a limited 2-3 week experience of usage).

My husband has not had any ill side effects, however it is still too soon to know if this supplement is helping him.  He takes several daily vitamin and health supplements every night before bed with a snack (often a bagel and cream cheese or peanut butter crackers) and watered down, 100% fruit juice.  He takes 2 of the t-Cell Master capsules.  They are a dark powder inside a clear capsule.

t-Cell Master reports to have the highest concentration of Reishi bio-compounds (500% higher than leading brands).  I have no experience in other similar supplements, so I will take their word. :) Apparently other brands contain less than 10% of these special "bio-compounds" (polysaccharides and triterpenes) and are mainly composed of fillers.  This t-cell Master supplement contains spore extracts, which apparently is a really good thing.   Spores just sound a little intimidating to me I guess.

Chinese medicine has used medicinal mushrooms for treatments of cancers and diseases.  It has been used alongside chemotherapy treatments and has had some success in reducing some side-effects. It has been studied that Reishi mushroom can potentially inhibit tumor growth for prostate cancers.  (source)

To be honest I do not understand completely how this supplement works or the science behind the Reishi mushroom and its spores, but from my limited research (a few internet searches and reading), it seems to be rising in popularity despite being an ancient remedy.  I always like trying holistic and herbal/natural approaches, and so I am happy to have him give this a try.  I am not going to make any claims on this product for now as it is much too soon.

Here is an excerpt from a study on the pharmacological uses of the Reishi mushroom and spores.  Please note that Reishi is also referred in this as "Ganoderma".

"Triterpenoids isolated from ganoderma (Reishi) spores showed significantly anti-HIV-1 protease, antitumor, and anti-complement activities. Triterpenoids are the main active constituents of ganoderma spores and show various bioactivities for its medicinal use." (source)

According to WebMD, Reishi is used for a variety of  ailments and viral infections such as the flu, insomnia, fatigue, asthma and bronchitisheart disease, high blood pressurehigh cholesterolcancer and other issues.

Thankfully my husband does not have any major health problems, but we are having him use this in hopes that he might have more energy, more recuperative sleep, and an improved immune system.  He gets colds frequently and seems to suffer from seasonal allergies year-round.

I did receive this for review (at no cost to me) and only one bottle was sent.  With most supplements, it is generally necessary for a product to be diligently taken for at least 3-6 months before true and vivid results are seen.  So far he has not had any issues with taking it.

To learn more about this product, you can visit the t-Cell website and or find them on Amazon.  Perhaps you are familiar with Reishi mushroom supplements and are looking for one that is highly concentrated.  Again, I personally do not know much about this topic and I am not a doctor or holistic expert.

Shower Curtain Rings (Gold) by Lofogo (Review)

I recently was sent some shower curtain rings in gold-tone.  This may be something you may not think much about but do your curtain rings match the grommets on the curtain? Ours finally match.  I love our retro inspired roller ball rings.  The sound when the curtain is opened and closed is really quite nice (its the simple happy things in life sometimes).  I like having a closed ring that does not skip or snag along the curtain.  I have had our rings on our shower curtain rod for a few months now, but they were silver in tone and the grommets were golden. :) It clashed in my opinion and although no family visitors or guest might notice or care, the difference, however slight, was noticeable to me. I had not thought about getting gold ones as the silver ones seem more readily available.

I was thrilled to have some gold ones sent to me for review and although they are just as fantastic and similar to my silver ones, the gold really completes the look.  When comparing the silver and the gold (from 2 different brands) I do not see any differences to note except for brand and color.  These are just lovely still the same except these are stainless steel and polished brass.  They are very stylish and add affair of old hollywood glamour.  I need to find a vintage 50's pale pink and champagne gold shower curtain to really make these beauties pop (but the grommets will need to be golden as well).  For now, my blue shower curtain is getting a nice little touch of fancy and I am very pleased.

These do not rust and they glide along ever so smooth.  The company that they are from is Lofogo.  I had not heard of this brand but they seem to work well and I have no complaints.  The hooks are easy to open and then close securely.  The price is reasonable and the color is classy.

When I saw the stock photo from the company (the shower bar is BLACK) I knew I had to add the picture to the review. That black bar looks ultra glam in my opinion. I need to find one like that for my bathroom. I think it beautifully showcases the gold rings, and it would not show the discoloration and age that my white bar shows.

I was sent these rings for an honest review.  I recommend them and have no issues with them.

This is easy to open, and stays securely closed when pushed in and then around, similar to a safety pin. :)
Notice that the silver tone is on the left and the right one is the gold.

Yodo Zoo 3-Way Toddler / Kids Backpack with Wheels (Review)

With 3 young kids in the house, we need a lot of bag and storage options when traveling.  Rolling luggage makes things very convenient, especially for children that are old enough to start carrying some of their own items.

I was sent a rolling backpack from Yodo. I had not been acquainted with this company previously before they contacted me for review, but seeing the quality on this rolling luggage and their lunchbox set, I am truly impressed. The fabric is thick and durable, there is nothing cheap about this luggage. The company put a lot of thought and care into designing a a backpack style rolling luggage bag. The pink owl is a nice medium shade with an accent of light baby pink on her chest and polka dots on her tummy. Here is where your child can keep snacks, favorite small toys or small activity books and crayons, etc. It is padded and will provide some protection against bumps from normal rolling and use. Her sweet face has a little pleating of material sewn between her eyes and at the top of her chest which is a nice added detail that gives her a sweeter expression and appearance.

The zipper is sturdy and glides along easily. I love how the straps of the backpack can be hidden away slightly when rolling and how there is a covering for the underside of the luggage. The backpack is lightweight and much more comfortable to wear than I was expecting. My daughter is 4 1/2 and this is a nice size for her. She loves this owl friend. The black luggage extender bars are very solid and well made. They do not feel like they will bend or crack. They can be unlocked by unclamping the side tabs at the top of the luggage bar. When unlocked, you then can slide the bar up and then lock the tabs into place to secure the rolling luggage handle.

The owl has large eyes that at first appear to be googly (moveable) from the stock photo. I was actually happy when I saw her in person, that the eyes do not move as I think the owl looks nicer with stable eyes. She is a sweet owl and although this is meant for a young child, it does not appear silly or overly cartoonish. I would compare this to the quality of SkipHop or one of those other brands---this may even be slightly nicer) It is very well made. The feet of the owl are a cheerful bright yellow and padded. They do not seem to get soiled when the luggage is in rolling mode as the luggage is tilted when rolled.

This is a great backpack for travel for a young child. This can fit a generous amount of items. You could fit even more clothing or items if you use a packing cube or 2. I always use those with my family as they keep clothing neater, organized and add so much space.

I highly recommend this luggage. There were no flaws or chemical odors to this bag when it arrived.

*This luggage backpack was sent to me from Yodo, for my honest evaluation and opinion, I was not compensated for this review, other than the review sample.  The company also makes a Monkey and a Shark backpack, if your child prefers.

Scout's Honor Eco-Friendly Cleaning and Deodorizing Spray(s) Review

With a family of 4 (2 of which are young children), We have a lot of cleaning and disinfecting to do on a daily basis. I try to use as natural and earth/child/family friendly as possible. We do not have pets, but having something pet friendly is necessary for a lot of families. Chemicals with toxic fumes and abrasive, caustic substances are not healthy for anyone to breathe in or be around. About 3 years ago, I gave up nearly all checmial based products in the home. We are sulfate free and our shampoo, soaps and toothpastes are natural and completely safe. Household cleaners are all plant and essential oil based and without fumes. There is one product I still have yet to give up and that is our Clorox disinfectant wipes. (I know, they are really bad on the toxicity level). I am on the lookout for a better option. I do not use them daily, and try to mainly use a spray bottle of lavender, tea tree, and soap nut water for counters. The main problem is that my husband keeps buying them and using them.

For odor in the air and on fabrics or surfaces, I have been using orange essential oil based non aerosol spray called Pure Citrus Orange. I like it a lot, but it sells for around $4 for 7 ounces. It does not last very long, especially with us spraying so often when we have a messy diaper in the house or when I am in the laundry room washing our cloth diapers, and they are especially bad.

I was recently introduced to a eco friendly, family and animal safe/loving company called Skout's Honor (cute name and dog logo).  They are mainly for dog/cat owners, but as we parent know, kids are messy too, especially when potty training.  This company has created all-natural, professional strength products for (pet/kid) stain and odor problems. Skout’s Honor uses "BioKore" technology, which lifts and dissolve stains, not by covering up the odor, but by destroying odor on the molecular level.

This is an environmentally and socially responsible company.  They care about the community and will work toward feeding an animal in need for one day with every Skout's Honor product sold on Amazon, their website or other website.

These sprays are safe and work.  They use surfactants that quickly and easily eliminate any stain and odor on any surface.  I have been testing out 4 of their sprays in every room of the house, and even our SUV.  I love using Skout's Honor in the baby room next to the changing table and diaper pail.  When puppies, or sick/older dogs, or babies/toddlers are potty training or prone to accidents, Skout's Honor is ready for effective use on rugs, carpets, upholstery, clothing, mattresses and other soft surfaces.   They are not heavily fragranced, and do not mask odors.  Instead they eliminate the odor and leave a light, and pleasant scent.

I like how they are lasting a long time, even with frequent, daily use.  Each bottle is securely freshness sealed with a screw on lid and bonus spray nozzle.  The bottles are a nice size and are reusable which makes this mommy happy.

You can learn more about the company by finding them on Facebook and Twitter.

These are available on Amazon.  *I was sent 1 of each bottle for evaluation, no other compensation was accepted.  This is my honest opinion on this selection of products and while I had a positive experience, I will only recommend items or products that I feel will truly benefit my family and readers.  Please also note that this review and others may contain affiliate links.

I keep the litter box spray next to the changing table (with the clean cloth diaper inserts for our diapers) and diaper pail (I thought the title was fitting for the use despite the fact we do not have dogs or cats).  :) The scent is quite lovely!

We DO love this spray don't we?

Oleavine Neem Oil Review

I like finding out ancient ayurvedic medicines and uses of essential oils and botanicals. I had heard of Neem, but had yet to use it alone in its oil form and not mixed into another product. I was happy to be sent a bottle from Oleavine, the same company that had sent me the Tea Tree Soap that I reviewed a recently.  This bottle is the actual unrefined, cold pressed, Neem Oil and not a soap form like the other product.

Neem oil is rather fascinating an is useful for so many ailments and preventative measures.  This amazing (but very stinky) oil is rich in omegas 6 & 9 essential fatty acids and antioxidants.  It is frequently added to various skin care and hair care products as it is antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, and analgesic.  Often pet products contain this ingredient as well due to the way it can prevent pests from harming their skin and fur.  Neem is often used as a natural pesticide or repellent and can safely be added to pet shampoo or used in organic farming and gardening.

It has been used for all sorts of skin healing and nourishing uses.  Those with itchy scalps, hair fall (loss) or flaking can benefit from using Neem as it relieves dryness and itching, strengthens hair and promotes hair growth.

Now back to the stinky part, Neem is very very repulsive in odor (or at least I think so).  I tried to sniff the bottle up close (against my better judgement) in order to try to describe the smell.  I think it smells like a mix between a skunk, rubber bands, and peanuts.  (all mixed together)  It is not something you will want to put on before going out of the house.  My husband has used it before bed several times and although it is not the most pleasant smelling oil (definitely an understatement), but it helps his scalp and skin when he is experiencing itchy or irritated skin.  I suggest adding some peppermint oil or another essential oil that might help disguise the odor a bit.

We do recommend this product and the company it comes from.  Oleavine makes products that are top quality and made in the USA! If you decide to visit their website, you can actually join their newsletter and sign up to save 15% on your next Amazon order from them.

*As mentioned, this was sent to me for review at no cost. This is my honest opinion of this oil.*

I like how generously sized the bottle is. You could add a few squirts to your favorite shampoo (sulfate free is our way). I do want to mention that this is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding mamas out there as it was originally used as a contraceptive and abortive method in ancient India and other parts of the world.
