Home It Fabric Shaver Review

I was recently sent a fabric shaver from "Home It." This is a larger capacity shaver that plugs into the wall. I compare it to my Oreck one that looks almost identical and has consistently served me well for 2 years, despite being second hand when I got it. This shaver by Home It safely and efficiently removes fabric pilling, lint, and fuzz from clothing, upholstery, curtains, and more.

I have used it on my Petunia Pickle Bottom diaper bags (tweed and cut velvet tapestry). I do not use it on my velvet, but the tweed part of the bag handles and edges get pilling easily and frequently. I have used this on my upholstery pillows from our couch.  Our pillows were showing signs of frequent use of rubbing against clothing from being sat on, machine washing wear, etc. and were very pilled.  I used one of the pillows as a demonstration item in the video below.

This fabric shaver trims gently and effectively and works amazingly well. It stores the excess in a detachable compartment that is easy to empty when needed. There is a generously sized, 2.5-inch shaving surface, and the handle is quite comfortable. It is not heavy despite its large stature. It includes a power cord. I would have liked it to have a battery option as well as the cord.

This will get lots more use in the Fall and winter when I bring my sweaters out.  This is an item you need to get if you do not have something like this.  It will make your clothing options and budget stretch as you can purchase items second hand and make them appear like new.

This is available on Amazon: Home-It Fabric Shaver

*I was sent one unit for testing and review purposes, all opinions are my own.
