SportsTek Lightwear 4-in-1 LED Headlamp Review and Giveaway

I had the opportunity to try out a unique and helpful product that might not normally be featured on my blog. The SportsTek Lightwear 4-in-1 LED Headlamp is a useful item for those who frequently go camping, spelunking, work in construction, or those interested in diy home repair.

This sassy little number will turn heads! :) It is a must have item for the fashion forward this Fall. Well, not really, but it does come in handy. Let me tell you why that you, the happy home owner, might want to invest in something like this.

Have you ever had a time when it was completely dark and you needed your hands free? Perhaps you needed to change a tire and it was late at night. This would have helped you. Wearing this headlamp on your head frees up your hands and is safer because you can be able to control whatever you are working with by using both hands when necessary. This light angles downward (or upward) and there are 3 light settings that are controlled by a button on the battery pack. The settings are: bright, medium and flashing/strobe. You can adjust the width of the light as well by turning the light portion either clockwise or counterclockwise. This is a beneficial tool for the shed/garage and the car as well.

Perhaps you were enjoying a nice family day trip, you go for a drive in a pretty rural area, you plan a picnic, bring your radio, a kite, Frisbee, and a cozy blanket for relaxing. It gets dark quickly and you load everyone into the car and begin to start the car and....nothing. The engine will not turn. You might need to change or add fluid into your car, use jumper cables, or check the engine. This provides a bright light for accuracy. This has 220 Lumens of bright light than can span over a 688 foot distance. The strobe light might be a good idea if you need to flag help down on a dark road.

We like how the strap is fairly comfortable (almost cushioned) and is adjustable to your head. For those who walk their dog at night, or who want to go for a nice evening walk without this "sassy little number" on their head, this attaches to the belt. The same attachment can also work on your bike. (Wonderful for kids bikes too) I have not compared this light to similar ones on the market, but I think this one works nicely.

A rather funny story of me using this headlamp for a rather unique need:

About 2 weeks ago, I was getting ready while my husband was at work. It was about 1 in the afternoon, and being a busy stay at home mommy to a 5 month old and a 3 1/2 year old, I often do not get my makeup on until I can get a free moment. I had done my foundation, and one eye with eyeshadow and mascara, and was about to do my blush on my cheeks, as well as my other eye, when all the electricity power went out. EVERYTHING. It was dreary and rainy as well, so it was pretty dark in the house. It was not scary dark for the kids, and it was not so dark that we would trip and fall, but there was no way I was going to be able to see my makeup. I was frustrated to say the least since we were supposed to run some errands when my husband got home in 2 hours. I then saw the headlamp on the kitchen counter, laughed, and then put it on. It was quite comfortable, and I figured it would help with lighting while I was hands free with make up application. I totally wore it while doing my other eye's shadow, liner and mascara, along with both cheeks. I realize it was not the most beautiful, precise,or ideal makeup application, but I must say, it was easier than if I did it in the dark. I angled it downward so that it would not shine directly in my eyes while I was looking into the mirror. It assisted with what I needed it for.

My husband has used this for walking to the shed at night to get things while keeping his hands free for carrying heavy items. He has also used this to check the riding mower one evening while it was getting close to dark.

The SportsTek Lightwear 4-in-1 LED Headlamp is great for using Outdoor and Indoor., and can be used for a variety of activities / uses such as Hiking, Biking, Reading, Military, Camping, Grilling, Backpacking, Auto Repair, Home Repair & More ("more" being less than ideal makeup application, haha). Provides Safety and Security, fits around your head or helmet, on a bike, used as a spotlight and place on a desk, counter top or floor.

The clamp is adjustable for mounting on the bar (for bike use) with a spring plastic part that adjusts. There is a rubber protective backing on the mount. The battery compartment was easy to open and close and is a rubber material. It is Water Resistant (this would be fine in a normal light to medium rain I suppose, but do not throw it in the lake or bathtub to test it out). Due to the rubbery material that does not cover the batteries extremely tight, I am concerned that water could get inside. I would suggest only planning to use this for dry use, and then only use in rain if you absolutely have to.

Our only suggestion would be to have the button / battery back closer to the front of the head, as being on the back makes it less user friendly. We also would suggest a separate button for the strobe/flashing effect.
