Australian Tea Tree Oil by Apothecary Extracts: Reviewed

We do not use traditional home cleansers or disinfectants. For the past 2 years, I have been making my home cleaners with the exception of alcohol free hand sanitizing wipes that we use on the go (we take 2 individual wipes inside to restaurants for messy little fingers and to wipes our 3 1/2 year old daughter's wipeable silicone molded bib. We also use the wipes in our car and diaper bag. We like the BabyGanics brand, as well as their foaming hand sanitizer for the changing table.

Other than that, we use homemade cleansers as we feel they work better, are gentler on skin and respiratory systems, and safer for use around children and pets. I make a mixture of tea tree, lavender, peppermint, and eucalyptus oil, a few drops of Castile soap and water. Sometimes we add some white vinegar. We like to put this in a spray bottle and spray the kitchen table, counters, our little girl's potty, bathrooms, etc. We keep a bottle in the bathroom and one in the kitchen (just to keep things separate and more sanitary). We also use this same mixture to keep spiders and bugs away as we live in a country home that is nearly 100 years old that has little crevices and cracks where sneaky insects sometimes like to visit but are never welcome.

I have tried many brands of essential oils over the years. I recently was able to try a brand of tea tree oil. I have tried many tea tree oils, but none have come close to the purity and quality of Apothecary Extracts Australian Tea Tree. This is "Pharmaceutical Grade as established by the Australian Tea Tree Oil Industry Association." It is 100% pure and contains no fillers, additives, bases or carrier oils to bulk it up.

I love the name of the company, as it sounds vintage, and quirky. I love the bottle it comes in. My bottle looks different that the pictured bottle on Amazon: 100% Pure Australian Tea Tree Oil. My bottle has a silver metal like lid, but with the same wonderful vintage / retro looking label. The whole overall look of this bottle is attractive and the prettiest tea tree I have come across. I also like how it is a VERY GENEROUS 4 oz size, has a nice dropper type stopper, and it is housed in a dark amber glass bottle. It is important to use a dark bottle so that light cannot pass through and tamper with the integrity and effectiveness of the product.

Tea is a versatile and amazing product. You can use it to naturally treat Acne, Fungus, Lice, Yeast Infections, Cold Sores, Dandruff, Ringworm, Fleas, Warts, Psoriasis, and More.

Use to make your own Shampoo, Cloth baby wipes solution (this is what we do---this is used daily for us) Lotion, Soap, Face Cleaner, Body Wash, Surface cleaner (we use daily), Disinfectant (we use daily), and Toothpaste.

To make an effective, soothing, gentle, cleansing, and wonderfully fragranced cloth wipes solution for baby or yourself:

We mix warm water, 5 drops of tea tree oil, 5 drops of lavender oil, 5 drops of eucalyptus oil, about 7 little drops of Dr. Bronners Baby Mild (unscented) Castile soap (Castile Liquid Soap-Baby Mild (Organic) Dr. Bronner's) 5 drops of calendula oil (we infuse our own in a mixture of high quality argan oil, grapeseed oil, jojoba, and sweet almond oil with organic dried marigold / calendula petals in a glass Mason jar for 1 month before using). We put our excess baby wipes solution in a glass jar (or glass bottle---try re-using a glass bottle from a Snapple tea or some other glass tea or juice bottle) We put what we need in a Munchkin brand wipes warmer with cloth wipes (8x8 inch size cloth wipes) folded in half. This make our little baby boy's bottom super soft, clean, and smell fresh---even after a stinky potty! It also soothes a sore bottom and prevents further irritation. The Tea tree, Lavender, and Eucalyptus are not only soothing and skin loving, but they are antiseptic and prevent mold and bacteria in your water and wipes solution.

I have not tried this tea tree oil for every mentioned use, but what I have tried it in, works very well. We use it for wipes solution daily and surface spray daily. Whenever we have skin problems, such as a rash or irritation, we use tea tree oil. We usually mix it with bentonite clay and kaolin clay, lavender oil, and homemade calendula/jojoba oil. Our 3 1/2 yr. old daughter had some sort of poison ivy or rash from some sort of plant and so we mixed up those ingredients and made a homemade calamine like lotion/mud. We smoothed it all over her arms, legs, belly, and back and had her sit in the tub. The bathe water was warm water with some baking soda, unscented castile soap, tea tree, and lavender oil. The next day, her entire body rash was almost completely cleared up.

We like this brand and feel that it is pure and authentic. I like the bottle it comes in, and the packaging/label. It is attractive to put on your shelf. The 4 oz size will be enough for most households. We use this EVERYDAY. For so many uses. I personally trust this brand and will purchase this on my own when we need more.
